Last week-end we drove to Alabama to visit with our former neighbor from Florida.  His health has taken a turn for the worse lately and he was just moved into an Assisted Living Facility and wasn't really happy about being there!  He loves Lucy, and especially Sophie so after speaking with his daughter we decided we would make a quick trip down to hopefully cheer him up a little.  We spent some time on Friday afternoon, all day Saturday, and a little bit on Sunday morning before returning to Ohio.  The girls were very well behaved and enjoyed their visit with Jim as well as all of the other residents at the ALF.  There was one lady that every time she saw us she would say (insert very southern Alabama accent here) "I bet your dog food bill is bigger than your grocery bill".  They were all so cute.  It was interesting because the facility allowed the residents to have their pets live with them.  There was one little dog that was glad to see Lucy and Sophie go home.  I'm sure he thought they were going to eat him!

This is very sweet....your girls are so special.
How nice of all of you to go check in him. I am sure it meant a lot to him and all who got to pet Lucy and Sophie!
That is so incredibly nice! Lucy and Sophie are sweeties.
How kind of you to make the trip and bring a little happiness to your former neighbor! I can't think of anything that would make me feel better than to have a couple of gorgeous doodles visit me!
I think it's wonderful that the ALF allows residents to have pets; we all know how therapeutic that can be.
Couldn't agree more with everything you've said.
So sweet! Thanks for sharing this story. I love seeing a big smile on a Doodles face!!!
