I've noticed many changes in the way I do things as I get older, or maybe it's just since I've had dogs. Things expand to fit the free time you have. So just the ADL, Activities of Daily Living as they are known in the care trade, soon take most of the day. Any appointment before noon is a major hassle and 1pm is preferable. Especially if you are a night owl like me.

and there's WWF

Whoops, wrong WWF

So I've made a new rule that you can only plan one major, and major is very relative, thing a day and sometimes that is too much. If I go to my office for a few hours that's it. If I'm cooking for company, a rarity nowadays , I shop the day before. Mostly if I need to return invitations I take people out. So much more relaxing and the food is better : )

I no longer wear a watch but maybe that's partly because I always have a clock or cell phone nearby. I no longer balance checkbooks, which I did fanatically in years gone by, because who wants to waste however much time I have left on that. I once found a mistake the bank made for one penny, all the other mistakes were mine.

Some of the things I have begun to do and stopped doing will not be discussed in polite company. But one major change I've made is that I no longer stop myself much from expressing my opinion. So I find myself writing emails to CEOs, sometimes ranting and sometimes merely requesting things politely. Today I felt like writing to Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple so I did:

"Smiley for IPAD
Dear Mr. Cook,

I recently got an IPad mini and I love it. One thing that would make my life and the lives of all social media users, easier would be a smiley face that was accessible with one step like the apostrophe is when you slide on the ,! key. Surely this would be  easy for your programming gurus. The way I've been doing it takes a lot of effort.

Someday Flash would be lovely too.

Thanks for your consideration,"
F....... ............
One of my mottos in life is, "How can I make life easier for myself given who I am? " What have you done along these lines?

And now that I see how much easier life is with Google Chrome I may have to use it. I am writing this on Chrome since it is almost impossible for me to upload images to DK otherwise using Firefox since they disabled Java.  But first I'll have to write to Java to see when the security issues are really going to be fixed. And then I'll have to find out how to put the tabs under the taskbar. Ah, life is complicated : )

LOL

Can I just say, the thing that makes me laugh absolutely horrifies me to think about is what Laurie must have to type in to her google search to find these images. And what images does she have to filter through to get these ones...

Horrors, I never thought about that!

LOL...all I typed in was thong and you are right, I saw more than I ever needed to see :) However, the elephant thing was on the front page....go figure.

Typing thong was the first step on the road to perdition:-)

Hindsight is 20/20!

An ounce if prevention is worth a pound of cure.

very true!

HAHAHAHAHA

She loved every minute of it Camilla.

OMD ladies! I just checked in and I'm thinking bless you F for starting this discussion.  I was feeling very alone, wondering if there was a clinical diagnosis for what was ailing me.  How did I ever take care of 2 kids, 2 dogs, work, cook  and clean a house in 4 hours?  Amen to what Donna said, and Karen, and Ricki, etc.  So I see the chat has moved on to ironing elephants and Brazilian body waxes...neither of which I have ever happily experienced. Laurie, why stop with elephants?I'm thinking you could make a great thong out of the DK logo.  You'd have to add an ear :) Now THAT would be a great cruise item LOL

Cheryl, unless you book and go with us on the cruise, please don't give Laurie any ideas. Have mercy on us!!!
