Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I honestly do other things besides post on DoodleKisses. Today, we went to training classes for both dogs and I am going to the movies in an hour with my daughter. On the way to class, I was thinking of things we could do tonight if we actually lose our power. Feel free to add any other ideas. Hopefully, people print this out and memorize prior to losing their power and have some things to do in the next few days if they get caught in the dark.
1) Give each other haircuts just for laughs and when the lights come back on, take pictures of the results for the annual Holiday card!
2) Play Hand games by candlelight. (Keep it clean, people)
5) Light a candle and work on some Dog training. Try a new command like, "Fetch!"
6) Make up silly games. For example: What is one of the dumbest tattoos you could imagine?
7) Get the duct tape out of the emergency kit and play Project Runway.
8) Or take it one step further....
9) Include your dogs in all the fun, so they do not feel stressed!
10) If you are starting to get cabin fever and posting goofy stuff on DK, lie down and take a cat nap.
Oh my gosh, I almost forgot.....if all else fails, get romantic!

Laurie beware husbands who "think" they can do their own plumbing....takes me back to the middle of the night kitchen, therefore basement flood of 2008.
Need I say more?
Thank you, Laurie. That was 5 years ago, Hurricane Wilma. We are in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl and no longer have to worry about Irene, though we do have relatives in Virginia and Jersey and obviously are concerned. We learned a lot about "roughing it" through Wilma. Have lots of memories, some actually funny. Like how we managed to create a warm shower with a hand garden sprayer and water heated in a pot on the gas grill. The grand kids almost enjoyed their "shower bath". Can you imagine kids not bathing after a couple of days? ugh! Doing the laundry was the most distressing. Had to return to hand washing everything and putting up a clothesline to dry it.
We are only praying that Irene turns out to sea and does much less damage than predicted.
