I honestly do other things besides post on DoodleKisses. Today, we went to training classes for both dogs and I am going to the movies in an hour with my daughter. On the way to class, I was thinking of things we could do tonight if we actually lose our power. Feel free to add any other ideas. Hopefully, people print this out and memorize prior to losing their power and have some things to do in the next few days if they get caught in the dark.

1)  Give each other haircuts just for laughs and when the lights come back on, take pictures of the results for the annual Holiday card!

2) Play Hand games by candlelight. (Keep it clean, people)

3) Eat M&M's

4) Drink Wine, Not Coffee!!

5) Light a candle and work on some Dog training. Try a new command like, "Fetch!"

6) Make up silly games. For example: What is one of the dumbest tattoos you could imagine?

7) Get the duct tape out of the emergency kit and play Project Runway.

8) Or take it one step further....

9) Include your dogs in all the fun, so they do not feel stressed!

10) If you are starting to get cabin fever and posting goofy stuff on DK, lie down and take a cat nap.

Oh my gosh, I almost forgot.....if all else fails, get romantic!

But, not too romantic:

My power went out at 7AM and just came back on 5 minutes ago.  I am SO GLAD!  What an adventure.  I fired up the charcoal grill and cooked seven chicken breasts, three Tilapia filets and boiled a half dozen eggs so it wouldn't all spoil. I got ice from the store and put the milk and eggs in the ice chest.  Webber, Seda and I drove around town to charge up the cell phone and get out of the house and then we came home and lit the oil lamps.  I had purchased a battery radio yesterday so I could listen to NPR and it saved me from the absolute quiet.  I was reading my Kindle when suddenly I had light!!  Yea.  I am so glad the airconditioning is back on, it will be much easier to sleep.  Our community has a privately owned well, with an electric pump, so I have not had water all day.  There are so many people that still do not have power, and have damage to their homes, so I consider myself lucky to have had these minor inconveniences today.  Those of you that are facing power outages..make sure you have a radio!  Good luck to everyone North of North Carolina.  Keep us posted with your smart phones if you have them.
Glad to hear you have weathered the storm , hoping all our DK friends fare as well.
Linda, Glad to hear you did fine in the storm. Sounds like you are on top of things there. So glad your electricity came back on. Good luck and stay safe.
Linda, sounds like you weren't bored at all....I like your sense of calm (or at least it came off that way) and now you don't have to cook for a couple of days, bravo!
When hurricane Fran came through I had an oak tree on my house, along with no electricity.  Compared to that storm, this was tame.  I am glad it's over.  I like to flush the toilet and cook on the stove.
My daughter is in NYC and she tells me that no one is buying milk, batteries, etc, but the liquor stores are very busy! I predict that in NINE months, the maternity units of hospitals will be very busy!
lol well to be fair...when we went to the grocery stores there was NO water, NO bread, NO batteries and not even any lettuce! We did however find milk, but even that was running low!
I actually had to go get milk yesterday because I needed it and not because of the storm..LOL! There were out of water.
Ginny, I bet you are correct. Liquor and storms=babies, right??

Parker getting prepared for the hurricane this morning...Lantern, raincoat, cookies and Al. This evening however...he changed his priorities and just went for the good stuff...guess he figured mommy and daddy should have all the important stuff covered!

That is sooo cute!
That Parker is one SMART pup :)
