I don't mean tricks or training behaviours but things they can't do. And maybe someone might have some insight on how dogs do something in their way. For example, I have read that dogs hug or embrace you with their eyes.

I wish my dogs could laugh. For me there is such joy in a baby's or child's laughter and I'd love to hear that from my babies. It would be great to be able to tickle them and get that response!

Sometimes I wish he could talk. :)

I often feel like I see laughter in his eyes, of course that's probably just my own wishful thinking.

I do feel like dogs hug in different ways, like putting a paw on you, or their head, or leaning against you.

Wouldn't a dog's laugh be wonderful!  I wish!  I wish our anxious dog could tell us how to make him feel more secure.

Not knowing what to do, that is the worst.....

I'm sure I'm not the only person here who wishes that their dog could use the toilet. :)

I wish there was some way for JD to explain to me why is doing something that makes no sense to me. But I really wouldn't want him to be able to talk.Well, at least not all the time, lol.

Yup, using the toilet would be fantastic! But they'd have to learn to flush too!

Actually dogs do laugh, we just have to learn to recognize it. :) Tara laughs quite often and it is fun to see what she thinks is funny. We learned to recognize dog laughter here:

There is a CD of laughing dogs available that is played in some shelters because it apparently calms the dogs:

Sometimes I wish Tara could talk especially when she isn't feeling well but most of the time I just count it a blessing that she can't! :)

I can't think of anytime I have heard this from any dogs but now I know what to listen for. Guess we're not that amusing!

I wish Murphy could tell me how he feels.  There are lots of times when I just know that he doesn't feel well and it's always a guessing game to try to understand exactly what's going on with him.  It would be so much easier if he could tell me exactly where he was hurting.   I kind of feel the same way about his fear issues outside the house....I'd love to know exactly what he's afraid of and what he thinks is going to happen.

I'm laughing at the thought of Winnie being able to talk! She would be an absolute chatterbox and my once peaceful household would turn in to a series of never ending questions.... "What is that?" "What are you doing?" "Who are you talking to?" "When can I eat?" "When are you getting up?" "When are you going to bed?"" Are we there yet?" "Who is that walking over there?" "WHY?" Lol

I would love it if Winnie could tell me how she is feeling. Now that she is past the frenetic puppy stage, I don't always know what to think if she is laying still. :-) Is she tired? Bored? Sick? Or, just content and enjoying life?

I think Riley would be like Winnie with the questions. LOL

I would like to know why Riley nudges open the pantry door (which is closed but doesn't latch well) an inch then walks away. My husband will be standing there, she'll meander by to do that and it drives him nuts.
I wish I could hear what my dogs voices would sound like in human voices. Based on personally and tone I think they would have the following famous people voices:

Pickles: Nathan Lane
Jake: Johnny Depp
Mac: James Earl Jones
Brisby: Harrison Ford
