Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I took Lan to the park today and she did great. She was very happy and met lots of dogs, including another Labradoodle who looked nothing like her! I'm guesssing it wasn't an ALD as it looked completely different, bone structure wasn't even the same, and wasn't at all friendly. I don't see many labradoodles and it made me realize just how vastly they can differ in appearance and temperment wise. Also, it was kind of funny because for some odd reason a lot of people ask me if Lan is a standard poodle... I don't even think she looks like a poodle. Do other labradoodle owners get this question a lot?

I've had Afghan hound, too, I think because of the color, and JD's tail curls up.
And what is a canoodle?
In Bocker's song, there are lyrics like "He's such a big canoodle" or something like that, maybe that person thought that was a breed, lol.
The only canoodle I know of :)

I have no idea what a canoodle is, but the woman who made the comment was absolutely certain that Wally was one! We were at an arts festival and she stopped in her tracks, pointed to him, and proclaimed: "Oh, he's one of those canoodles!"
Someone asked me just yesterday if Sadie was an Afghan hound--and she was the owner of a goldendoodle! To be fair, Sadie recently had a bath and she's not quite as wavy as usual. Still, I thought it was an odd choice.
I always 'guess' poodle just in case it is a poodle so I don't get the owner all riled up with a doodle inquiry. At our local kennel club dog show I watched a doodle get awarded something in rally obedience. Then followed the doodle and owner to ask if it was a standard poodle. I was fairly sure it was a doodle because it had a full tail...and I was right =)
Most people who have asked about Bexter guessed he was a goldendoodle. I can only think of one person who thought he was a poodle (which he could definitely pass for, considering his fur). Evidently, goldendoodles are more popular around here or he just looks goldendoodly. Anyway, there are a few people who have just simply asked what he was & I've just told them. Then, their faces look very funny when I tell them he is half golden retriever and half miniature poodle. When I say that the breeder used AI, then they get all relieved that a mini poodle did not mate with a golden retriever. It's kind of funny! With Maggie, people have just asked what she is & I've told them.
I'm always asked if Jack is an Irish Wolfound. Depending on my mood I'll say he's an Amish Wolfhound or a Mini Irish Wolfhound. hee, hee
Sophie always gets Portuguese Water Dog. Especially when she is really shaggy. When she is short they ask if she is a poodle. Winston gets poodle a lot, but people usually recognize he's a doodle, or else they just don't have a clue about dogs and are asking to be polite.
nobody ever gets it right with Sophie. They are sometimes stumped by her size because she is so only 40lbs.
