Hi everyone,
I woke up to my almost four month old puppy whining in his crate, he usually never whines in his crate, so I let him out and he had very watery diarrhea. He kept trying to get more and more out and I could tell he was feeling discomfort. Once I got him inside I had to clean him off and realized he had blood in his stool. Not a bright red blood, not that dark either. I went outside to check the stool and sound a couple drops of blood in it. After I cleaned him up I checked his crate and found out he vomited as well. There were a few dark pieces of tiny grass/twigs in his vomit. I gave him a lot of water and he is sleeping again. He has had diarrhea for a couple days now, but not this watery. I figured it would go away. Do
You think this is something serious?im really worried about him. I am going to to a sample of his stool to the vet today. Hoping and praying he is okay!! Poor Dexter. :( I would really appreciate any advice or input. Thank you.

Hi Nicole, I'm sorry your little guy is not feeling well but I would take him to vet, vomiting and blood in the stool are just red flags for me and it is much better to be safe than sorry. Get the freshest stool sample and bring it with you as well.

Since he is so young and can easily become dehydrated, I would take him into the vet and have him evaluated. Take a stool sample, too. Good luck and I hope he feels better soon.

Good advice, I agree.

I agree with the others. He really needs to see the vet. Hope it's nothing too serious and he feels better soon.

Sorry little Dexter is not feeling well!!  Hope you get some answers at the vet and Dexter is back to feeling great real soon!

Please let us know how he is doing!

Agree with others - vet - better safe than sorry. I hope Dexter gets better asap!!!

Please update us as soon as you see the vet.

I totally agree with everyone, have him checked by your vet. Our dogs have experienced bloody mucus stools when there is a sore spot in their digestive tract. It is usually after they ate some thing nasty or a foreign object. The first time that I saw blood in one of their stools, my heart just stopped! I thought the worse!! We were able to get into the vet the same day, and she tested the stool and took a blood test. Your baby is so young and needs to be checked out.

Keepin good thoughts that he is okay-let us know what the vet says.

Please post an update on poor Dexter! Hoping he recovers quickly!

I hope he feels better soon, and I also agree a trip to the vet is a must.

Glad you contacted the vet.  Please update us as to poor little Dexter.  Hope everything's ok.  I would have taken him to the vet too.  If you don't have pet insurance, it's a great idea to do so ASAP.  It is going to save me tons of money in the long run!
