So Quincy has twice come in COVERED in tiny green burrs that takes us a very long time to comb out!  Today we bribed him with an ice cream container with just a bit on the bottom to keep him occupied while we combed him out.  I can't find the source!  I suspect its the deeper woods up the hill.  Oh well, at least he gets a thorough combing and the DH helps!

Whoooeeee!  I don't think we have these obnoxious things around here--at least I haven't seen any.  Deepest sympathy!!

Nope, I think this particular pest is fond of the right half of the country : )

thanks.  I found the source tonight.  it is too depressing for words.  there is a huge patch of them up our hill.  I don't thing I can even attempt to get them all out.  I mean HUGE PATCH.  I will take pictures tomorrow.  sigh.

The good news is they pull out easily. Would you believe Calla got some again tonight but I'm hoping she brushed by them on the chair. I had not yet sent them to oblivion in the trash. If not the hunt continues but now I am determined to get rid of them. At least next year I know what to look for before they set seed.

Of course I found them in 3 other areas and I'm sure some are still lurking. Here they are in the garden

They are really easy to overlook.

I think it's from a "knapweed" - at least that's what I've been told when Myla is full of them!  She gets them when we go by fields and they are awful!

I don,t think these are what I have , which I believe is:

so sweet and cuddly!

Aw, so cute.

Here in Florida we call them "hitch hikers".  I use a slicker brush on Bailey and they come right out..  Pesky weeds!!

I suspect there are different bad actors in different parts of the country.
