Samantha was due for a bath today..and boy did she get one! haha! It's not that she doesn't enjoy baths..we just have a little too much fun in the water sometimes lol! Anyway as I type, Sami is cuddled up on some warm towels showing her kong ball who's boss. Usually when I dry Sam I use a LOT of towels and when I need to speed things up I put the hairdryer on low and cool, luckily Sam isn't afraid of it. I thought I'd ask some of you to share how you get your doodle dry after a scrub down?..and show some pictures of Sami Post Bath :D (post yours if you have any!)

We towel dry Clifford, he's a big chicken when the hair dryer comes out. For Little Dood we bought a mini shop vac and blow him dry. We only use this vac to dry him and it blows stronger than a hairdryer and with no heat. His fur is much curlier and thicker than Clifford's so it would take forever without it and it is way too cold in MI right now for him to air dry. Sami is a very beautiful doodle - I wish mine were small enough to be lap dogs!
It is mostly towels and air dry for Lucy and Sophie. I do use the blow dryer to get all the hair under their ears and their ears dry (although I use my hand to make sure I don't blow air into their ears). I don't like to leave that all wet and moist while the rest of them dry. I also like to dry their beards and faces. Occasionally I'll have to take a blow dryer to Sophie to finish getting her dry if she isn't done in time to go to her therapy visit. (because she always gets a bath before going). They aren't crazy about the dryer in their faces, but don't mind it on the rest of them. Sammi looks like she enjoyed her both!
Rua loves her baths. I wash her in the laundry tub and when I take her out, I wrap a towel around her and put her on the washer on top of beach towel. I then use a microfiber drying towel (it has pockets that I put my hands in) and I rub her down. I then wrap her up in the beach towel and off to the bathroom we go. I close all of the doors, get out my hair dryer, put it on warm, sit on the floor and turn it on. The after-bath zoomies kick in, so she runs round and round and round the bathroom past the blow dryer. She'll come up to it...and try to bite the air coming out of it...or she sit up straight and lift her nose so it can dry her neck and chest! She cracks me up!
Buddy bites at the blow dryer too. I actually video taped it and posted on my profile. Even when I am blow drying my hair he runs into the bathroom and sits there, like he is making sure the evil blw dryer isn't hurting me. I hold the cool button and blow it at him and he just jumps and tries to bite. Doodles are so funny!
If I wash Callie at home or at a dog-wash, the dryer is a must. She does better with the hair dryer at home, because we sit on the floor together and I cuddle her as I dry her. The bigger dryers at the dog wash, not so much. If I let her air dry, she instantly mats from rubbing her body against every surface in the house. The post-bath zoomies are adorable though!
Peri is just a little girl (25#), so we hold her for about 20 minutes, wrapped in a towel after her bath. She usually lets us do it because she is worn out from the excitement (she LOVES baths). When it snowed last week, we used a hairdryer to dry the snow balls and she did NOT LIKE THAT ONE BIT! So she is just a towel only kinda gal.
I LOVE all the replies to this! :)
After reading all of the responses, I remembered that I turn on my gas fireplace in the wintertime to help dry out the dogs. Kona and Owen have just had a bath and Kona is not drying. Glad for all the fun answers which just reminded me of what I have done in the past to warm up the wet doodle boy.
Hi Taylor. I love the picture of Huff all wet. Here is a picture of Rua being rinsed. We just put her in our laundry tub!!! I haven't given her a bath for a few weeks now (she was spayed on Dec. 10th and the vet said to wait 10 days) but will give her one on Tuesday! I'll try to get an after-bath zoomie video!
haha:) Me too:) This is a cute picture. The water looks so cool. I want to get a video of Huff's after bath zoomies too:)
