Well, Toby is at the vet's waiting to be neutered. I am surprisingly calm. The vet was quite nice, didn't rush us at all, and answered all my questions. Surprise - he weighs 51 pounds!!! at 6 1/2 months. Eek - I think he's going to be a big boy. The vet thinks he could lose a little weight, but I think some of it is still loose skin (room for growth). Toby really doesn't eat all that much. Anyway, I will get a call between 3 and 4 when he's all done and waking up well to let me know how he's doing, and we can pick him up tonight. I will be glad when today is over.!
I think that treats are about to become your new best friend!! Has he been in the crate with his cone on yet, does he even fit?!! The other option would be for him to sleep out, with one of you there to keep an eye on him, but you won't get much sleep! Within a couple of days he will probably be back to normal, how long is he supposed ot keep the cone on for?
The cone fit in the crate, but he was miserable. We put a pair of boys' undies and a t-shirt over that on him, and he left the incision alone, thank goodness. It was still a pretty restless night. Hopefully things just keep getting better from here on in.
