Training for my new puppy

Just got a 12 week old goldendoodle this past weekend.  He has had a head start on training but still want to find some good puppy classes or a one on one trainer.  Any suggestions?

Not sure what you mean by this Charlotte--you should find a trainer or a puppy class---but only some one who lives near you could make suggestions--I think most people look for recommendations from their friends and neighbors in the area--

When you take the puppy to its first vet visit your vet can recommend one. Some partner with trainers and can send you home with a packet. But like Ginny said, your best bet is to reach out to friends and family in your area since they can direct you locally.

That's exactly how we found our trainer...a recommendation from our Vet.

Check out the Puppy Madness group and look at some of discussions about trainers private vs group.  (I think it is important to take a puppy to group classes so they learn how to be around other dogs).  Also be sure to join the VA doodle group and you might be able to get some suggestions from people in that group because they are closer to your area.

In addition to checking with your vet, if your breeder was local, you may want to check with him/her for a recommendation. Our breeder included a recommendation in the paperwork she sent with us when we picked up Sedona.
