Tufts of hair everywhere!

Stella is an F1b and has never really shed in all of her 14 months. However, as of late, we have been finding tufts of hair all over the place. Has anyone ever had this happen with their goldendoodle? Could she possibly be going through a coat change in "late puppyhood"? She has also been scratching a bit more lately.

Don't have a Golden Doodle, so I really can't help with experience/ expertise.  But I wonder if the late summer heat might have caused her to feel itchy and develop some skin irritations...Other than that, I'd say just check her over for hot-spots or insect bites. 

Have to say that South Lake is such a wonderfully beautiful spot, and your pictures taken on the wildflower hike are just amazing!  Location, Doodle, and photos are perfection!  Way to go!

Gosh Truman is only 14 weeks and is an F1 and is dropping "tumbleweeds" of hair everywhere!  I don't know if it's coat change or seasonal but it's driving me crazy.  If you don't see anything different about her skin I would guess it probably is another change, especially since she's a f1b.  I feel your pain though!

Paddy is 3.5 y.o. goldendoodle and does this.  He doesn't shed tufts much -- but he's very, very curly, just like a poodle.  I find ringlets and small tufts lying on the floor from time to time.  I've been assuming that he tears them out when he scratches, which he does a lot because of allergies.  He has no hot-spots or insect bites, and he's very healthy.  He really doesn't shed otherwise.  Not worrying about it at this point!

Tara is an ALD but she lost the bulk of her puppy hair during her 13th month. She had been shedding small amounts for the previous few months but all of a sudden it let loose!!  The scratching makes me wonder if there isn't another component to Stella's issue though... Are you finding any bald or thin spots on her coat or is it coming out uniformly?
