Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hello Doodlelovers,
Recently, before Christmas, we found a lump on Yankee's left hip. After visiting the vet she said it needs to be removed. Fast forward to Tuesday, it was removed and the size of a lemon; and it was not a fatty tumor. We had it sent out for biopsy, but takes a week to get back results. Does anyone have first hand experience with tumors in Goldendoodles?
You can imagine our sadness. Yankee, 8 in April, has been a therapy dog for 7 years working with children, the elderly and those effected by crises in Arizona. To say he is a part of the family is trite, as he is definition of love and compassion to us.
If you have had experience with tumors in Goldendoodles please let me know. I did check with his breeder and all the litter mates are in perfect health, 7 in all.
Thank you!

I know how anxious you must feel. But take hope. No experience with doodle lumps, but had a husky who had a malignant breast tumor and four of her breasts removed at 8, another at 12 with remaining four breasts and she live to be 16. Even took herself on a last break advetnture to the garage down the street in her last three months of life. Stay hopeful! I am thinking kind thoughts for you Yankee.
I am so sorry to hear this. Waiting for the results is excruciating. I hope the tumor turns out to be benign.
I hope it's nothing to be concerned about. Unfortunately our story is not a happy one - Luna our f1 goldendoodle grew several tumors seemingly overnight that turned out to be lymphoma; she was 7.5 years old. If Yankee just has the one though it's unlikely to be lymphoma though since they seem to pop up everywhere at once (armpits/groin/neck mostly, anywhere with lymph nodes) and grow super quickly.
Hoping for good news for you and your family!
I am so sorry- I know how stressful it is. My guy is full of lumps and bumps everywhere. We are going next week for more aspirations to check. I don't have any idea but sometimes lumps can be inflammatory processes. I really pray that that is the case for you.. These dogs are our hearts and it is torture to imagine anything being wrong..
