Update on story about doodles shot by robber--a new law proposed.

This happened in my neck of the woods--so terrible--now the woman who owned the dogs has helped to make this happen...The law, named for Kirby and Quigley, her goofy doodles, who were killed by the robbers, imposes stiffer penalties if companion animals are killed or injured during a robbery---it might not pass, but I think she will keep "hounding" them until it does!

I have read stories where penalties were stiffer in these cases (I'm sure rare) but I guess that depends on the judge.  Maybe all judges should own pets they'd be more compassionate!
