Thanks again to everyone who responded to my discussion back in September, you were all very helpful! Since then my daughter still has been having some issues on and off, last week she had her allergy testing done. Now her primary doctor said we had to remove the dog's from the house. Our allergist said our dog's are NOT the problem=)) She is NOT allergic to dog's or cat's! We were SO HAPPY to hear that, she is allergic to mold, grass, and dust mites. Which isn't to bad he seems to think her attacks happen when she is coming down with something. So we will just be on the look out when she get's sick. With Christmas right around the corner this is the best gift we could have gotten....
I'm soooo glad it's not your dogs!! What a relief!!!!. Funny, I was just thinking of you and wondering how you ever made out....because - . We put our artificial tree up this weekend, and my son did most of the snapping in of the branches. Well by the end of the night, he was sneezing his head off. (It didn't help that he hid inside the box for a while waiting for me to come by - more dust!) He is on singulair as a preventative and whenever he starts to sound like a cold is coming on, or has been somewhere where he is exposed to dust, I also give him his dose of pulmicort inhaler as a preventative. There is so much you could do! I AM SO GLAD you went through with the testing and found out she is allergy free of dogs!! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR DAUGHTER (and family)!
That is wonderful news, I know it would of been hard to give them up. I hope your daughters allergies can get under control so she can enjoy the holidays without worring..
I'm very glad your daughter's allergies are not triggered by your dogs! I'm always telling people to take their allergic dogs to specialists to really find out what's going on...here's the proof that it's the same with people. Test, don't guess!!!!
Hope your whole family has a very merry Christmas!
We gave our daughter allergy shots after she was tested. They were very effective and she didn't have any more problems (except cats) until the year before college. So we gave her another set over the next couple of years, and she again didn't have any problems and now she is 24. They are a pain to get, you have to run them to dr., but so worth it. No dragging around inhalers, nosesprays, meds that make them sleepy. We also gave this child regular flu shots which really cut down on her sick days at school. When she did get a cold, it wouldn't go into asthma, bronchitis, etc. and lasted fewer days. Good luck and I am SOOO glad you were aggressive enough to follow up on the tests for your child.
Wonderful news ....... I'm guessing Primary Dr. isn't a Dog lover or he would have been looking for other suggestions in the beginning. Glad you didn't listen to him! Merry Christmas!
