Does anyone know of a doodle rescue in the DC Metro Area? A co-worker needs to rehome her 16 month old male goldendoodle. Any suggestions would be helpful. I don't want this pup to be taken to the pound.
Yes, thanks Meghan - I look forward to following this story. Thank you so much for helping Cooper out. Poor dood hasn't even seen a vet? That makes me sad.
I am confused. Can we get him out of the home, to a vet and get his vaccinations? I can foster him if need be and get him neutered too. Just let me know how I can help. My current foster is leaving on Sat, so will have space.
The Virginia Kincheloe Spay/Neuter Clinic is in Fredericksburg and they do neuters for $80-110 depending on the weight of the dog. I went there last week when I rescued a dog from the shelter next door. They did my shots for her on the spot. It is cash only. Number is 540-507-7461.
Sounds like the dog just needs training. Where did they get the dog from? Most reputable breeders want you go give the dog back to them, in fact it is usually in the contract. I do live in Woodbridge, Adrianne can let me know if I can help you.
Most reputable breeders will not sell a dog who is not already spayed/neutered without a spay/neuter contract, either. I doubt this dog came from what we think of as a reputable breeder.
Cooper's Mopm has tried to reach the breeder for 2 day s with no response - not surprised. But he will be safe and find a wonderful Doodle home! He is so darn cute, how could he not??!!
Meghan, just let me know if I can help you in any way! I have a foster here that will be adopted this weekend, so I might be able to help with fostering.
Also, I am having a doodle romp at my house on Sat 8/28 10-12 if you want to come and bring Bella! I have 2 doodles and they love to play together. 14932 Amaranth Court Woodbridge VA 22193 703-590-2850
MJ's Animal Sanctuary in Maryland is willing to take him, get him up to date on his vacs and have him neutered. Unfortunately, I just found out that we still do not have even a temporary foster as many of her volunteers are going out of town for vacation and we cannot have him boarded since he has no vaccines. Does anyone have any ideas for temporary care?
