Could be the name of a children's book, no?
Has anyone ever had issues with their pup throwing up in the middle of the night? Wallace has done so 3 times in the last few weeks. The confusing thing is that it's just a very small puddle of water. There's no color to it whatsoever. And it always happens in the very early morning hours. Somewhere between 4-6 am when I'm fast asleep.
He saw a vet last Monday and a fecal was done (he also has had loose stools... more on that in a moment.) He tested negative for parasites. He is behaving normally otherwise, so I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this.
I think his soft stools are courtesy of a recent switch to Orijen puppy formula... I'm not sure a grain-free kibble is the right choice for Wally. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. He is already on a probiotic.

Especially when your dog's favorite place to vomit is the living room sofa.
Me too:) I am having a nice dream, then all of a sudden, you hear it!
This happened with our last dog. They said it had to do with an "empty stomach". Instead of feeding him twice a day they had us feed him 3 times a day smaller portions. He got a feeding in the morning right when we got home from work at 4:30 or 5:00 and then at 8 or 8:30 at night. He never vomitted again at night once we made the switch.
We also feed Toby 3 smaller meals a day, but seems like he still needs the snack to keep something in his tummy all night. Hopefully the snack in the evenings before bed will help Wallace. Keep us updated!
My Guinness is 7 and has done this since he was a puppy. As everyone already mentioned, it's the "empty stomach" syndrome. Giving him a snack right before bed does help, but it hasn't totally stopped it. It probably seems funny, but I've trained him to go into our bathroom (which has a tile floor) when he's going to vomit. He now does it every time....throws up right next to the toilet.
Guinness is my smart Doodle (unlike his brother who is a "slow learner"). Every time I would hear that noise and knew he was about to throw up I would pick him up (he's a little guy) and bring him into the bathroom so he could vomit on the tile and not the carpet. After a while he just figured out that was where he should go...and he started doing it on his own.
Fudge used to do this when she was a puppy. If it is bile I think it has to do with Wallace having an empty stomach. A later feeding or late snack may help. By the way, I LOVE his name.
Yup, Gavin too. Like everyone else, I give him a substantial snack before bed and this had dramatically decreased the "bile barf."
