We live very rural and this morning after taking Meg out and in the process of getting my first cup of coffee I hear a RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRPPHHH, RRPHH low in her throat so I walked in to look out the storm door she we growling through and saw nothing but light fog laying on the bean field across the road with the first bits of daylight starting to show threw.  I saw nothing but she started again, so I got my head down to her level to watch and there they were 5 deer, you could barely make out their grey outline in the for and they looked no more then inches tall they were so far away.  But Meg, she is diligent and she stood guard until the wild beasts were gone from sight, there will be no unexpected deer attacks at our house, Meg is on duty.

Phew--sounds like a close call. Clearly Meg knows that when there are five or more deer, they are definitely planning an attack :)

Good job, Meg--keeping the family safe!

Meg is SO brave!  On morning such as this we should call her Princess Merida.

Awww.... good girl :)

Oh Miss Meg, You are one fearsome doodle-guard. Keep up the good work. ;o)

Good job Meg.

Haley went into high alert yesterday morning while looking out the kitchen door.  I went and looked and there on the edge of the cotton field was a fox about 200 feet from the house.  I saw bunnies out there the night before and guess the fox was hunting the bunnies.

Good job Meg. You know those deer are always up to something. Last winter we had a snow

and our neighbors built a snowman. Skeet growled and barked at him every day and he never

did come in our yard!
