WOW! This is a special day for Finnegan and me!! We’ve reached HDA status!  We’re so excited!!!

Well, at least one of us is.

But what does HDA status mean exactly?

I’m thinking the emphasis here is on the word “hopeless.”  Doris says I’ve been hopeless for a while. LOL. Just because I sent her that well deserved shirt. I didn’t tell you that Finnegan now sports a second address tag on his collar that says, “Kiss me I’m a prince”” did I??  It’s true, Doris! And Finn would like to thank you for that!

After two years, I’m still head over heels in love with my doodle guy, having survived Puppy Madness.  He’s the happiest, gentlest, wisest old soul I know, the best snuggler, and just plain silly sometimes.  He’s my heart dog –and he brought me to DK!  But I’m thinking the “doodle” means I’m now in love with a lot of other great DK doodles!

I came to DK when Finn was a pup looking for advice.  I thought some of the profile pages and the photos were awesome!  Gracie Girl and that little Lion King, Banjo were the first to win us over.  So much love and creativity!  I told Finnegan, “Someday you’ll have a page like that!  Then we went away, then we came back and lurked for a while, and finally we jumped in! (BTW Finnegan still doesn’t have the page I promised …maybe when I’m retired I’ll figure out how to customize it with all those cute photos at the top.)

I think “addict’ means I owe a special thanks to F’s Photography Group, the Training Group, Karen’s Food Group and Laurie’s blogs for turning us me into a DK addict.  And as I told Finn, we can’t leave anytime soon because I now have a camera that is going to take me years to learn, there’s more training to do, there are too many doodles on the prayer list, and we’ve never gone to Dewey Beach.  Besides that– I want to know how many more times Laurie can post that bikini photo!!  :)

So I just wanted to say that although my house was probably cleaner before DK, I spend far too much time at work now checking in, and Finnegan thinks I spend too much time on the computer, period (although he does like to bark and woohoo at your videos), we are proud and humbled by our new status. Finnegan wants me to tell you that you are some of the funniest, most caring, most interesting, talented, and feistiest people we’ve ever met!   Even though we haven’t really met in person – we feel like you are friends. You all bring a smile to our day and you’ve helped us through some tough times. I hope we’ve helped pay it forward and will continue to be there for all of you.  BTW, Finnegan wants you to know that he would love to play with any and all the DK doodles! So you’re welcome here anytime. Thanks to all of you for being a part of our life and helping me make Finnegan’s life better!  We are hopeless and here to stay :)

LOL Thanks Donna! I love the photos of your colorful town so much -- and you know I think Quincy looks a lot like Finn --but twice the size so twice as beautiful!

Cheryl, what a beautiful story and I am so happy for you and Finnegan.  Our Doodles have brought us to the "best" site on the internet, not to mention all the wonderful people we have met!  Enjoy your status, you and Finnegan definitely earned it.

Definitely the best!!! Thank you --you and Libby Lu have brightened our days!

Finnegan you are gorgeous and your Mommy is such a Wonderful Photographer. We are all Hopeless when it comes to our Doodles, congratulations Cheryl!

I can't imagine life without DK now, that gives my family reason to believe I am truly Hopeless.

Lisa, thank you!! I'm going to frame that "Wonderful Photographer" part because you can't believe how frustrating it is to try to go the next step!  Your family should be proud :) We LOVE you and Daisy Doodle!  I'm off to do some work now.  Really I do work!

I work to Cheryl, really I do. DK is always in my background on my desktop at work that's all.

Congratulations and welcome to the club..... we are a hopeless group indeed!

LOL Thank you Christine!!  It looks like Shelby is an ALD like Finn.  She is so adorable!

Cheryl, I love this discussion! You've pretty much summed up the way I feel about DK and all of our friends here.

Tell Finn that JD sympathizes about the amount of time I spend here. (In fact, he wrote a pretty funny blog about it when we got the HDA trophy: http://www.doodlekisses.com/profiles/blogs/the-hopeless-doodle-addict )

Here's Jackdoodle's definition of "Addict", from the blog:

An addict is not a good thing to be! The German Shepherd down the block said "addict" means "one who is physiologically or psychologically dependent on a habit-forming activity or substance"! In other words, a junkie! My GSD friend said most junkies get put in rehab! But instead, you guys give them a trophy! And presents!

Personally, I disagree. I think that when it comes to doodles and DK, being a hopeless addict IS a very good thing to be!

So congratulations on achieving HDA status! We're so glad you're one of us!

JD"s blog is hysterical!  What, Mom? Yes, I'm still thanking the Doodle Kissers. I'll be done in a minute! ROTFL

The pictures of both of you are adorable!  A big thank you Karen for all you do --because of you a lot of doodles aren't hopeless :)  However Finn wants a word with JD --

JD, Finnegan here. Look your mom went over to the dark side a long time ago but NOW she's taken my mom with her!  There are my balls (tennis balls!) sitting on the floor.  No one to throw them!  I even dropped one in her boot the other day  -- while she was wearing them - thinking she'd get the hint!! Don't you ever wish the grid would go down?  Work on it JD!  You're smarter than me.  You've got those initials after your name

--your pal, Finn

I just realized, thanks to Finn, that it's really JD, J.D.

LOL, I never realized it either! Finn, you are a jenius!
