weather putting a damper on my pups arrival tomorrow

My mini GD puppy is scheduled to arrive at Laguardia airport tomorrow afternoon at 5:00pm

This storm we're having is already making me a nervous doodle parent!
He's flying from Toronto to Chicago O'Hare, lays over for two hours - then to LGA NY.

I really hope he makes it as he's a bday surprise for my wife, and her bday happens to be tomorrow also :-/

Larry, I've been a part of this forum for many years, and anyone who "knows" me will tell you that this is absolutely the first time that I have ever reacted in this fashion to anything that anyone has posted. It seems to me that your priorities are out of whack. You appear to be more concerned about surprising your wife than in doing what's best for the puppy. And, now I will be quiet, as I have said my peace.

It would be great to surprise my wife - but PLEASE understand - surprising my wife means getting the puppy home as soon as possible

My concern is the dog not being alone! Not the surprise - that's trivial, and me speaking in jest.

I called last night and tried to push the whole thing back - (canceling the surprise) - my number one concern is the dogs safety !!!!!!

I am getting ready to drive to Chicago in the next hour.
Not to save the surprise, because it won't - but rather because I don't want the dog stranded.

Again, I appreciate your concern - you sound like someone who really loves animals and is very passionate - I may have reacted the same way

Believe me, if I could walk to Boston in this weather to keep my puppy from being lonely - I would!

I wanted the dog to stay in Canada - he shipped anyway.

I'm hearing trying to figure out the best thing to do.

I would be furious with your breeder for shipping the puppy in the first place with all this weather. That said, post an emergency discussion asking if anyone in the Chicago area can go pick up the puppy until something better can be worked out. Surely someone can help out. Your puppies welfare is more important than the surprise and I am sure your wife will understand that this is out of your control.

I would LOVE to do something like that - but makes me very nervous giving my dog to a stranger?
Think it's safe? I'm so torn.

I even called the airport to have him removed from the plane before it departed - they couldn't do that

Larry, Just do a discussion and see who replies. We have the best members on this site and you would be surprised the help we have given to other members. Worth a shot. I messaged one person I know who would do it, but he is out of town,  I think. We have a Doodle Transport team, too and while they won't transfer him, maybe a member would at least pick him up and keep him safe until something better can happen.

I'm considering driving to Chicago just not to have him sit there by himself - so please don't say I'm not fit to be a puppy parent - when I'm nervous, on this site, looking for suggestions and advice on how to better the situation
