My doodle has webbed feet. Is this common, the norm, or an exception? Does your doodle have webbed feet? Just curious. Our neigbors doodle--a large labradoodle who looks like Adina's Thule also has webbed feet. Both these dogs could swim all day if we would let them.
So Everyone, tell your puppy to " roll over" ( don't forget the treat) and check his paws--see if the toes have a web between them.
Both Standard poodles and Labrador retrievers have webbed feet, lol. Many of the "water breeds" do. Jack has minor webbing, but my IDOG foster Kobe had very thick webbing. It's very common among labradoodles, but I don't know about the Goldens.
Kensi is an F1 goldendoodle and her feet are quite webbed. Webbed feet are not always the norm amoung pure bred Goldens and Labradors despite what you may think. I have owned two pure breed labs and neither had webbed feet.
LOL. Are we all playing with our puppies feet now? I know I did all last night. I always thought they were cute anyway. My husband, oh he will kill me for posting this, tells me the paws of all dogs smell like Fritoes. He is a joker--maybe he justs wants to see if I will smell them. So while we are all checking out to see if our dogs have webbing, smell those paws and tell me if they smell like Fritoes. Dunno??? I really did think I smelled Fritoes.
I have tried to photograph his feet. I will try again tonight when he is tired and will let me........... he is still a chewer if I antagonize him. It's a challenge and I am always up for some kind of impossible project.
As far as all dogs, my labs or mastiff never had webbed feet, so maybe this is why I was so surprised to find this out. Thanks Joanne
My daughter and I smell Jack's feet all the time, and she thinks they smell like Fritos, too! But I think they smell like people's feet! ROFL
We checked for webbing the first time we saw him in the shelter, to verify his noble water-dog heritage.
Bet you never thought this thread would turn out to be so funny!!!
This is very funny...I too had to go check it out on my F1 goldendoodle. I suspected webbed feet because sometimes I wonder if she'd rather swim than eat! I'm pretty sure I had checked when she was a pup. If your doodle is shaggy, the webs are hard to see but I could clearly feel them. Oh yeah, we are positive on the Frito smell too! My kids will think this so funny when they get home.
