Warning: this post contains a detailed description of Darwin's poop.

Sometimes, when Darwin poops, I notice something strange. It will be normal solid poop, with small pebbles instead of one large piece. But, when it's coming out... they are all... connected by a long hair. Like, they will dangle below him because they are all attached to it. I am pretty sure it's one of mine because it's brown and the same length as my hair... does this mean he's eating my hair off the floor or something? Is this normal? Anyone else notice something like this with their dog?

Sorry if that creeped anyone out... LOL

Yes!! It happens to Charlie sometimes, too!! I have pretty long hair, and I was a bit concered about it, too!!! I am glad you asked!! I will be interested to see all of the responses.
This is what I love about DK, you can ask any question and there is sure to be someone out there with a similar experience and an answer, and often a picture, luckily not this time. :>)
This is too gross for me. Now I will have to stare at the doodle's poop to see if we can join the club!
Well we've had lots of pretty funny and interesting poop posts here on DK, but I really think this one tops them all! Never saw anything like this with my Doods, but one Murphy had a long string hanging out of his butt....apparently from a chew toy he had pulled apart. I didn't want to pull it out, so we just had to wait until the next time he pooped.
hahahahaha... Thanks for the laugh!!!! You know you are a DK member if...
LOL this is cracking me up!!! My hair is long and curly and comes out frequently from Peri's behind. HAHAHA!
You know, another way our hair gets into their digestive tracts is maybe from them snuggling with us, kissing us, etc. We know that everything sticks to them...leaves, grass, fuzz, fur from other animals, etc. So if they have our hair stuck to their beards and then eat, drink water, play with a toy, or just do that "what's this stuck to my face, gotta get rid of it" chompy thing (I can't describe it but you all know what I mean), they swallow the hair that way, too.
My poodle hated it when a "string of frankfurters" was hanging from her butt and that one last one wouldn't come out...she used to start running frantically trying to make it fall off!
Anyway it's all good protein but I guess they don't seem to digest it much. Would that make them cannibals since they're ingesting part of the the family.
hahahahahaha... Allie runs around frantically just like that when she's constipated!!!! LOL.
that is hilarious!
Camilla - I'm glad that you brought this up! Callie frequently has a "tush string" and it's always either my hair or grass. Callie gets VERY bent out of shape when I pull it out of her (she doesn't like having her "back end" touched, which stems from an impromptu brazilian wax I had to give her from just such a problem!).

Callie loves hair. She tries to eat the hair that I pull out of her brush. I don't see how it's edible, but you'd think it was pate.
I have really long hair and this happens to Achilles all the time. It is just all over the house and it gets on things he chews. Don't worry about it. My other dog Houdini had this happen for 11 years and nothing happened to him.
