I do love it! Thanks for letting us know!

This show is the reason I got Yogi!
I watch every year, but for the last four years during the show I would ask my DH if I
Could please have another dog. He always said no, so I respected
His opinion.... Well last February when I asked, he finally said okay.
I almost think the cute commercials got to him. (I made sure he happened to see them)
So the search was on and it lead me to Yogi.

DH now says he doesn't know how we lived without him and how much he loves him :-)
They are best buddies.

I

I will try to watch it, but we have had problems getting it in the past.  I thought it was over the weekend, but maybe not to compete with the Olympics.  Animal planet?

CNBC tonight, then USA channel on Tuesday

Looked through our hundreds of channels with Direct TV but could not find it.  I will try again today with USA channel, but we did not have much success with it in the past.  I would love to see it, especially since they now have agility for mixed breeds.  We are worming our way in!

The agility is on today on the USA network. Hope you find it

I love to watch,  if at all possible, we usually do.  Watching dogs is fun and the breed assortment lovely.

Often I am asked why people feed their dogs Purina, but when the sponsors of dog shows are Purina, Eukanuba, and Iams there really is no question.   Love the dogs, though.

Sally, I was just thinking about this.  There probably isn't a single dog in the show that is fed Purina or the other big box foods.  :)

I bet you are 100% right. Kind of crazy when you think about it.

Well, I would guess at least half feed something else - but in the past years or two I have indeed found that some top show dogs are fed these foods and some breeders are including the brand in their contract.

There was a discussion about that recently.  Some foods are even sold on a pyramid scheme and the breeders are in the pyramid for recommending the foods.  Contract for dog food?  I don't think so.

I certainly couldn't say regarding any sort of scheme, but I do know the foods that host the dog shows are popular and It's common for specification to be included in the contract. Considering when these shows started, how they make their money, and all the years that these brands have been around. The average person will see brand backing, brand recognition, and aim for it.   I watch the shows, appreciate them,  just cringe at the big labels and the manipulation.

Not only the big brands are listed in purchase contracts, so are many with the top foods.  The practice is not new,  I have walked away from breeders with such practices, no matter what the food.
