Suzi Barrett, the actress/comedian who is the 'mother' being shown in the Milo's commercial is in the process of breaking her contract. She will no longer be the spokewoman to treats that kill our furkids. All their chicken comes from China, which they post right on their website.

Milo's is a Del Monte product. All ingredients in their dog products are purchased through third party food brokers and imported from China. This is true of all the "Big Dog Food" companies- they are all owned by huge corporations and the supply chain is poorly supervised.

I came across Milo's in Target and bought some treats for Fudge and Vern. Would it be safe to say that discount chains, etc. do not sell any decent treats, food, etc. for pets? If so, then maybe we should all be writing to the stores we frequent and try and get some changes made. I guess I will stick with Zukes for my two.

YES

There is nothing sold for pets at Target, Walmart, Kmart, Sam's Club, etc. that is safe to give your dog.

Some specialty grocery stores like Trader Joe's or Whole Foods sell foods or treats that are okay, but the regular grocery stores do not.

Years ago, Target sold Three Dog Bakery products, which are not only safe, they are human quality. But sadly, that's no longer the case.

I have found a few grocery stores and other discount retailers who sell Paul Newman products, which are also okay.

But that's it. And I have researched this pretty darned extensively.

Wow!  Thanks for the information!  I always get so tempted when I go to Target!  I will now stay away from their dog aisle entirely!  You ladies are the best in making us aware of dangerous items for our dogs!

I have found dog treats that are made in the US at Target. I am SUPER watchful about what I give my dog and oddly enough the Nylabones Healthy Edibles are made here. The cheapest place I can find them is at Target.
