I have been web shopping for Murphy and that got me wondering what others are putting under the tree for thier doodles. Any ideas?

Scrappy & Grover are getting new collars and leashes, as well as many treats. They have so many stuffies that I can't walk through my family room at times....although, I've seen some really cute ones. I'm thinking maybe some beneficial chew toys (am definitely looking into the Buster Cube, as mentioned) and if I end up giving into my need to buy every large stuffed animal I see, we may end up getting them the huge ones that grunt and squeak......they lasted about 1/2 an hour last year, but what fun was had! With two dogs, everything gets tugged and pulled and beaten up.
I enjoy shopping more for my doods, than for my own children. Scrappy hasn't been feeling well, so she got an early gift yesterday....a lovely pink sweater and a red hoodie from Old Navy. Never though I'd put a sweater on either dog, but she had to be trimmed short and she just looked freezing:)
Suzanne, I'm with you on that one, but hubby had two stipulations to agreeing to a dog. (Actually don't know that he ever really agreed.) One was no little "yappy" dog and NEVER put any clothing on it!!!! So....no bandana's. But I think they are so cute.
Mary, how do you keep them from tearing the stuffed animals apart? Did you see the cute little teddy bear at Petco for $5.00. SOme of the money goes to rescue or some organization. Very cute, medium in size and for 5.00, not too much to loose if it doesn't last long.
Well, I guess some of the stuffed animals are much more durable than others, because Grover is a "destroyer" of stuffies....Scrappy never was. He usually chews all the limbs and ears off and moves on to the next one. The tearing is from the tug of war between both doods and once a seam is ripped, it doesn't take long to become a pelt. Only the strongest survive here:) I also will admit to spending a fair amount of time lovingly stitching up one in particular....Grover has a stuffed gorilla that he takes EVERYWHERE with him. He suckles and kneads him at night to relax...he goes out to pee with him, sleeps with him and just generally carries him around all day. When Scrappy wants to play, she'll steal him away so Grover will chase her. He's survived quite a while because Grover hasn't ever used him like the "other" animals, although he is missing his ears and nose:)
OMG How cute is that? Like a security blanket for dogs!!
I have stitched up Murphy's first set of squirrels from his puppy Hide A Squirrel Toy several times. Yup, no ears, no wiskers, no eyes, towards the end, but for them to have lasted about 6 months was well worth the money.
Yes, the tug of war at my house would destroy anything stuffed in 2 seconds.
Gracie is getting a tug-a-jug and a super duty dog hairdryer. I am also considering a Nini Ottoson puzzle toy. Maybe a new antler too.
What dog hair dryer are you getting? I'm wanting/needing to get one for Timbow.
This was great reading, and now I have some new ideas for Callie's Hanukkah presents! Thanks all!
Glad you enjoyed it. I got lots of good ideas too. Mostly glad to see I wasn't the only one who gave doggie gift giving so much thought. Family kinda rolls thier eyes at me sometimes. HAHAHA
Someone suggested on my Facebook Arizona Doodles, to give a real leather baseball mitt. THat her dogs love them and they last a long time. My concern is how they will know the difference between that and a good pair of leather shoes or boots. But I know Murphy would love it because it would be soft and durable. I may have to give this some more thought. Anyone else ever use that as a chew toy?
