Above is a link from WILDAMMO - looks like some sort of art website.

This is truly saddening.
I can't look at this. It is so sickening to see these beautiful birds and other wildlife in this situation. All because of the corporate greed of big oil. The wildlife and the watermen and other effected people of the gulf coast did nothing to bring this on and are just helpless in it's wake. I get infuriated when I see BP's promotional spot on TV telling what they are doing which can not be enough and cannot put things back like they were. (Had to vent.)
This makes me sick to my stomach to think about.
They have started showing more about this on the news (the animals). Today I saw teams cleaning out pelican's beaks, their eyes and feathers. One of the doctors said that they wouldn't know the long-term effects for a while. They can get the oil out but won't know about the inhalation effects. It is so sad.
And we don't even see the effects under the water such as sea grasses and natural habitats destroyed. I'm a licensed sea turtle permittee and am taking a class next Monday on how to deal with the oil spill if it makes it to our shores and how to handle sea turtles that have been affected. What a mess. I had to vent too.
So sad. You would think with all of our technology and knowledge that someone would be able to stop this.
I hope it does not offend anyone... But it is unbelievable that us human can come up with the way to dig 4 miles down under and feel as nothing harmful will happen..... Not only the wild life, local people depended on the ocean and the various business it brought to them, too.... I dont have any relation to BP, but feel guilty of selfish and invincible thoughts and disregard to the bigger picture....
I think everyone agrees with you - think about the economies of those places - I have grown up going to the Destin/Grayton Beach area in FL for years. People are cancelling vacations left and right. That affects the entire tourism industry also.
Aww................horrible :(((
The entire situation makes me sick. What I can't stand even more is the lack of media attention to something so huge in our own contry. Go back to the celebrities that had the fund raiser on like every single TV station for the earthquakes in Haiti - they raiesed 60 MILLION DOLLARS. Where the heck are the celebrities and their fund raisers trying to raise money for our OWN country and all of the animals suffering because of this? The country stars did raise money for the flooding in Tennessee - KUDOS to them! And our own government? Where are they? Oh wait spending billions in other countries. It took FEMA five days to get water to the Superdome after Hurrican Katrina - and they are still suffering the effects. But hey we sent 60 Million to Haiti with a TV telethon! How pathetic.

Off my soapbox ranting now.
