What do other people let your Doodle get away with?

I just found this out when I walked in on our groomer before Rouser was done getting his nails tended to.  Keep in mind that Rouser is 2 1/2 years old, 90 pounds, and he's so tall and lanky that he looks skinny at 90 pounds. 

 

Apparently, as a puppy, Rouser grew accoustomed to sitting in the groomer's lap to have his nails done because he would get too fidgety on the table.  Because she indulged him, now he'll only cooperate if he can sit in someone's lap.

 

He's so big now that one woman will sit down and Rouser will curl into a ball on her lap (as best he can because he's too big to actually lay down on someone's lap) while the other woman trims and files his nails.  He has no problem staying on the table to have the fur trimmed from his paw pads, but when it comes to the nails...

 

I can't believe that they have let him get away with that for all these years!  What a baby he can be.

That is outrageously cute! Your groomer sounds awesome. People let Darwin away with doing only half of a command. For example, if they tell him "down" He will only go slightly down (like a bow) and wait as if to say "is this good enough?" We never tolerate that but other people will give him treats anyways. Or they will not correct him if he breaks a sit stay, etc. I have to tell them to be tougher on him!

Awwww, I think it is great that the groomer loves him so much that she does what it takes to make sure he is comfortable and happy...I have one of these big guys, and I understand what you say, lol, but mine has no idea that he is so big, he thinks he can sit on your lap too, lol....

Yes...I think because of how "adorable" our Doods are...people do let them get away with More Than They Should!!
I mean...All they have to do is look at you...and if you say something...they have that way of just "tilting their head to the side"...
Oh So Cute...and your heart melts!! Lol...
Of course...We All Know Better than to let them get away with Anything...Don't We Now?? (smile)

How cute is that story!!! Rouser sounds like a big love bug. My baby is pretty big too but only 73 lbs. I hope you never have to find a new groomer. If you do, you will have to interview them to find one who is willing to do his nails this way.

Ha ha that is so cute, Achilles is great when he gets his nails done. My other dog Houdini, not so much and the groomer loved him so much that she did it in her lap as well. Gotta love a groomer who makes it work.

Sounds like you have a Great groomer !!! Next time you pick up early take your camera with you I would love to see a picture ;-)
