I am also posting this in the name group, but thought I would post it here too... so everyone could participate.

We have talked about why we named our dogs what we did, but I thought it would be fun to post the actual meaning of our doodle's names. I chose Darwin before I found out what his name meant, but found out later that it means " a dear friend" So cute!

Your dad sounds like a real treat! I don't think it would be wise to check the 'meaning' of Ho's name either.
Webber, which means "weaver" and is German, was not named Webber because of anything about yarn or fabric. He was purchased from my Paine Webber investment retirement account! and Paine sounded like it might hurt, so Webber it was. Seda, means "silk" in Spanish (there seems to be some weaving/fabric trend here). My comment when I pet her was that her hair felt like silk. The other choice for her was Resa, which means curly. But that was too hard to say with Webber. The "r's" are a problem for my tongue.
Zoe is Greek for Life. Pertaining to Life force or energy, the vitality of life. Zoe certainly has done that for me!
I chose the name Sasha...just because I love the name. When I just looked up the meaning ...I found that it means..."Defender of Man"! Wow! Now I know why Sasha likes to chase the Great Blue Herons from our property...and she just loves to scare the family of foxes with her "Great Big Bark"! It's a good thing they don't know that she wouldn't hurt a fly! LOL... I also read that people...or should I say dogs (smile) with the name Sasha...are cute...bubbly and cuddly! Yes...I would say that would describe my girl. She loves people...adores other dogs...and is a total "Social Butterfly"! I think the name suits her...
