I was surprised to receive an e-mail from a doodle owner friend that was extremely uncomplementary about certain breeders in the east coast of the US. Is there some kind of feud going on between Australia and the US or Rutland Manor and the US? Are there some poor breeding practices going on among people we thought were reputable breeders or is this just a spat between individuals? Very curious to know as the e-mail was so unexpected. There have been some very heated discussions on this topic here, to the point of one discussion being deleted it got so out of hand. It has also been discussed on every forum that has to do with doodles for a long time now. People get very emotional on both sides.

The national Geographic chanal did a documentary about designer dogs and doodles and they were at Rutland Manner and interviewed Bev Manners. I thought why would that channel go into a puppy mill to do an interview. So I don't know when they filmed it but it certainly didn't look like a mill then. Quite the stories between her and her daughter who set up in the states and expanded as a mill to provide and set up other breeders. I tell ya, I don't know how anyone could possibly make a decision one way or the other whom to support with out having the ability to search all known records of her and her daughter then make visits to all lands owned and or rented by either of them and apparently her daughters aliases. I am very curious, but don't have the CSI skills nescessary. People are for and against and are very adamant about thier beliefs whether they have had first hand knowledge or not. The grapevine is an interesting source of gossip but truth is always somewhere in the middle. The people arguing enough to get out of hand should possibly remember that. I hope all rumours are untrue. She did start the breed.
