Trav is an urban dog, so doesn't encounter many dead things that might trigger his 'roll in it' instinct. The few dead birds, rodents or fish we've found haven't appealed to him. He'll sniff the corpse, then seem to shrug and move on.
Tonight he found something that triggered the instinct. I gave him a Cod Liver Oil softgel, and after picking it up, dropping it, nosing it around for a while, he started to lie down and roll on it! Yikes! This is human grade stuff! LOL
What has your doodle found worthy of rolling on or in?

After looking at those possum skulls with teeth, I am sure it is a possum. There was also a chunk of hair left behind that looks possum like. More shots later. Thanks everyone.
Linda, I thought the hair looked sort of bristly too, like a possum. They're scary critters. There was one in my shed one time, and they hiss! Thanks for satisfying our curiousity.
Haley loves possum poop, the fresher the better. Also, well rotted lawn mower droppings like the ones you get from lush spring growth.
Not doodles but Cole' (R.I.P.) loved cow pies the fresher the better and right out of the cow. (There used to be a cow pen adjacent to our property.) And the beagle we had when I was a kid rolled in the contents of an ice chest that had been left with ice and a forgotten squirrel carcass for several weeks in the hot Florida sun and then poured out on the ground.
Oh yes, mower droppings, definitely. Forgot that!
Anne, imagine knowing what possum poop looks like! You're a real scientist. lol I can just see the gross mess from that ice chest. Why would somebody put a deal squirrel in an ice chest??
No rolling here either but one of my chocolate labs rolled constantly in a failing septic system a few doors down every chance he could. It used to make me cry. A Lot
Oh Joanne, I do believe that is the worst ever!
I want to cry now and it has been years. I would open my door and let him in before I realized what had occurred. I would chase him around the house. Horrible. Just horrible. And, as a young mom, you think I would learn my lesson but I never did. It happened at least once a month throughout his life.
Oh, Joanne! I'd be crying too. I can see the hose being used a lot for your lab. :)
Our doodles are not obsessed with rolling in stuff, but we had an English Setter years ago that would dive shoulder first into any disgusting things in her vacinity. The very worst was the rotting corpse of a seal on the beach. The ride home was disgusting even after washing her off in the ocean. I mean disgusting.
oh yuk :)
