Call me a little " over the top" when it comes to my doodle Wilson...but he sleeps naked at night. I think he should be comfortable when he sleeps...and thats that. So I put his collars in a drawer in my nightstand. So this is where it gets silly. In the morning I put out a couple of his collars, never more than 3, they are all tagged, and he decides which one he wants to wear for the day. He really looks them over and sniffs each one, and seems to ponder them quite intently, then noses the one he wants for the day and leans forward for me to snap it on. So do any other DKers go to this extreme? LOL Or maybe try it sometime..its quite entertaining and starts my day out with a smile!! : )
I never take my dog's collars off. I figure that will be the one time they get out, right? What I did do is order a tag that has all of the information - lic. number, vet, chip, us, phone - so it is not noisy. We also use rolled leather collars for the doodles so the fur around their necks doesn't get matted.
I know that. The discussion just got me to thinking of how annoying the tag jingle used to be and that once in a while we would take the collars off at night. If I could have many pretty collars for my guys, I would love to let them choose the one they wanted for the day.
