Sudden separation anxiety. This really happen overnight and I am beyond devastated?
My 9 month old Goldendoodle is barking like a mad man. Nonstop neighbors are leaving me notes and they are very angry about the noise disturbance. This is my worst nightmare, so so sad!
I love my dog and try to give him a lot of love and affection. I am not sure if I caused this. Did I spoil him rotten?
It just started Tuesday, March 5 when he was sneezing. No more sneezing. But did the sneezing trigger something worse? He is still barking. We never had this problem. We have the same routine no changes. Am walk, lunch time walk, afternoon walk at least 3hrs per day.. He is crate trained and cooperates with the daily routine. But this week has been a nightmare for us both:( He is barking before I get up in the morning and when I leave to work and on my lunch time for at least 2 hours straight each time. He starts with a growl for awhile then the loudest bark possible for a long time. I am so sad...what triggered this? How do I reverse it:(

Could something be wrong? Have you had him checked at the Vet. Maybe something is hurting him?
This is so strange. I cannot imagine what it is. Please keep us posted! I can imagine how frantic you must feel.
I am frantic. I have been crying for the last two nights. I told my boyfriend this is a common reason people have to part with their best friend. My boyfriend said dont think like that parting ways is not an option, we will figure it out"
It interferes with work and its causing me an abundance of stress. I work where I live and enforce quiet and enjoyment rules. super sad week for me:(

Dogs go through stages just like kids. He may just be bored. He may not feel well. If you are taking him out of his crate when he is barking, he may just be doing it to get your attention. Have you tried antlers or something to chew on or training exercises to wear him out? I would start first with the vet and make sure nothing is wrong and then possibly call a trainer to help you with the barking. I know some people have tried a bark collar as a last resort, but I think a trainer may provide more help right now. Also, if he eats at 7 am and then immediately gets crated, he may have to go to the bathroom and is trying to alert you. Could you possibly tether him to you instead of crating when you are working and see if that helps?
I was thinking same thing. I just got my puppy so I don't have any first hand experience but my sister has had her labs for almost 10 yrs. now. She gave me a heads up about the 'teenage' months possibly being awful like it was for her. She got her first dog at 8 weeks and did puppy training and obedience classes with him--the typical stuff happened and the bonded. But around 8-9 mos. old she remembers him all of a sudden being super stubborn, rebellious & disobedient. Fortunately he outgrew that stage. Maybe that's what you've hit now? Good luck.
You work from home and he barks while you are home? Is that right? Or am I misunderstanding?
