I know no one is going to change their dog's name, because a lot of thought went into the name you picked for your dog. I have noticed that a couple of dogs on DK now have aliases, so it got me thinking and I decided to post this question. If you were forced to change your dog's name, what would you chose this time around?

I was in the huge minority when I picked Fudge's name, but I still love it. My sister went on and on for days that it sounded too much like another word and would not let it drop. Luckily, I never listen to her and it annoyed me enough that I was sure my puppy would be named Fudge. I might even have told her to "fudge off".  If I was forced to change her name, this time around I would go with Penny (because of her color) or Cookie (because I love the food names).

Fudge, Penny, or Cookie?

Vern's name was chosen by my husband and it fits him so perfectly. Know what I mean, Vern? It is actually Vernors after the Midwest Ginger Ale. However, it I had to change it, maybe Harland (after Colonel Sanders, because it reminds me of chicken and Vern is a big chicken) or Mac (which could be short for Macaroni or Mack Truck). I also love Noodle, but that was vetoed by my DH.

Vern, Harland, Mac, or Noodle??

Fudge looks like Penny to me!!!!!
Must say I like the names you have more than the alternatives.  I think if I had to rename Traveler, his new name would be Doofus.  :)    From the Urban Dictionary:  "Someone who hasn't got a clue! They live in blissful ignorance of the world, fashion, personal hygiene and social skills."
That sounds like my 11 year old son.  I wonder how to go about re-naming him to "Doofus" LOL!!!!!
We call Murphy a Doofus all the time.
I call my best friend that all the time :) Traveler is a cool name and again, very original.
We have Rufus VanDoofus at our house
Oh, I love that...his formal name :)

Good question! I think Huff would be a Toby or Wilson maybe even a Murphey but I like his name the way it is. I dont think there are any other doodles out there named Huff yet.

I like the name Dakota :)  Allie's breeder names all of her names with the first name of the Breeding Mom's name - so Allie's litter mates were all names that started with a "T."  One of Allie's litter mates was Takoda.  I want that to be my next dogs name!
I wondered if you named your pug after Ozzy Osbourne. Dakota could have been Sharon :)
Huff is a cutie and his name fits him.
I picked Oliver because when I got him, I was reading a book about Oliver Wendell Holmes, lol, but when I looked at this little face, Oliver was a perfect name for him...He is also known as Mr. Puppy...He answers to both names, lol...I sit here looking at him now, and I still think he looks like an Oliver to me, I know I have no imagination...Boo Hiss on me....
