What's In a Name? If You Changed Your Dog's Name, What Would It Be??

I know no one is going to change their dog's name, because a lot of thought went into the name you picked for your dog. I have noticed that a couple of dogs on DK now have aliases, so it got me thinking and I decided to post this question. If you were forced to change your dog's name, what would you chose this time around?

 

I was in the huge minority when I picked Fudge's name, but I still love it. My sister went on and on for days that it sounded too much like another word and would not let it drop. Luckily, I never listen to her and it annoyed me enough that I was sure my puppy would be named Fudge. I might even have told her to "fudge off".  If I was forced to change her name, this time around I would go with Penny (because of her color) or Cookie (because I love the food names).

Vern's name was chosen by my husband and it fits him so perfectly. Know what I mean, Vern? It is actually Vernors after the Midwest Ginger Ale. However, it I had to change it, maybe Harland (after Colonel Sanders, because it reminds me of chicken and Vern is a big chicken) or Mac (which could be short for Macaroni or Mack Truck). I also love Noodle, but that was vetoed by my DH.

What a thought to consider, Jane.  I do think you could switch names and they would fit them also.  I love their names though and the thought you put into naming them.

Kinda sounds like when my dad would shout to us as kids.  He would go through all 4 of our names and finally give up and say "who ever the h#%% you are! Stop that!".  :-D

Noodle is one of Ned's nicknames so perhaps I might choose Noodle if we HAD to change from Ned. I cannot think of another name that fits him at all.  Anybody have a suggestion?

Buck (now aka Clancy) would be changed to Clancy. Since I solicited wonderful names for him right on dk and did change it  to Clancy for the very reason your sister ranted about. I don't thing Fudge ever sounds bad, but Buck.... I am still harboring a love for HulaDollar and might have a Hula in my future.

LOVE the name Noodle! Noodle the doodle... it just doesn't get any cuter. Hula is great too. Of course, it's hard for me to imagine Clancy or Ned... as not Clancy and Ned. :-)

Geez, I don't know!!  I thought Rosey was going to be a Lucy but that didn't suit her when I met her, Rosey just kinda came to me on the way home picking her up and it felt right.  Bandit took a little longer, looking him I thought Linus, but when we got home again it didn't suit him so we tried, Ranger but kept trying to think of things black cuz he was so black  I came up with Bandit and never looked back.
