Where do our online friends go?

I was thinking about Jane, Rooney, Stuart the other day. Where had they gone? And then I got to thinking about at least two other folks that I have not seen for some time. I have my page blocked except for friends and could not think how to contact someone that I had not bothered to make friends with. I think folks should let us know, and I would query them if I knew how to contact them. I guess some just have said enough, read enough and are satisfied. But what if thats not the case? I'm giving DH my password (although I usually dont sign out) just in case I cant answer anymore. Does anyone else worry or wonder about folks that are regulars?

Sharon, I'm one of those that probably appeared to have disappeared to many people.  I recently went back to work full-time and have been in training for a few weeks so time is limited.  I think about friends I've made on DK all the time.  Even though I haven't been able to spend much time on DK.  I try to go though my emails every few days to see what's been going on.  I miss everyone on DK and hopefully sometime in the near future I will have a little time to spend on DK again.  

But the answer to your question is YES.  In the past when someone hasn't posted for awhile I wonder if something has happened.  In my case it's just not enough time.  But if something were to happen to me no one would know since my DH is computer challenged.

Sometimes when life gets crazy people go off for awhile then come back. There are a few that have gone and I too think about them and miss their input here on DK.

I was on alot when we were waiting for lilly and during the first few weeks. We are in the process of getting "Lizzie's Cottage" ready to live in and that has sucked the energy right out of me. Lilly is doing fine and we enjoy her so much. She is headed for 6 months..can't believe it.

I disappeared for about a month when we moved 4,000 kms. I think most people come back when they arent so busy, but it is concerning when people just disappear

Jane Rooney and Stuart are still around, they've posted in the Photography Group, and of course Jane is involved with the Doodle Cruise in October 2012, so I am sure she won't be leaving us!

You can always leave a comment on someone's page if you are wondering about them, (very few are private) or send a friend request.

We have had a couple of people who were very active at one time and then sort of dropped out of sight, and I do wonder about them.

But usually, life just gets busy and someone may just have to take a break for a little while.

I brought this up long ago.http://www.doodlekisses.com/forum/topics/disappearing-doodlers?comm... I find it disturbing when active long term members disappear. Some responses indicated that people knew a member was ill, etc. I left comments on some pages. But should something happen to a DK member it is unlikely we'd get to know. Why do you keep your page private? It is one way people could try to contact you. If something is not for public consumption you and a friend can always PM.

I keep my page private as I only wish that DK folks can read about me and not the whole world. For example I have an ex, my husband has an ex and not everyone is friendly.

I see your point. I would like to limit my page to DK only but not everyone is my friend : ) I do try to keep my real world identity private but lots of people know the connection. Maybe Calla and Luca should go by initials too : ) Anyway, I try to say what I mean and not be mean and never plan to run for public office. I do think it is a good idea to avoid posting email, phone numbers, addresses and plans in public. I plan on staying home with my guard dogs today for instance.
