Why Fudge and Vern Will Not Be Going on the Doodle Cruise!

There is a lot of talk about the upcoming Doodle Cruise in October, 2012, that Jane (Rooney &Stuart) is organizing.

People are also asking if their doodles are invited and unfortunately, the cruise is only for humans. Even if doodles were invited, Fudge and Vern would not be going and here are some reasons why:

 

First of all, what do dogs even bring on a cruise. Vern eats a lot and I would have to bring a huge amount of food. What if we are out to sea and we run out of dog food? I over pack with just my stuff. How would I fit all that food into my suitcase?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fudge is not a great swimmer and needs a life jacket most of the time. What if they don't have her size on the boat for the ship's pool? If my suitcase is full of my stuff and Vern's food, how am I going to get a life jacket in there too?

Another big worry....what would happen if they went overboard because they saw a fish in the water and decided to try and catch it.

We have a real problem keeping their water dishes full at night. I am afraid they might resort to this on the cruise:

Also, Fudge and Vern like to party. My husband and I go to bed early and they could sneak out and get in a lot of trouble. We have all heard of shipboard romances and Fudge does like the bad boys. What if this is what she is doing, while we are sleeping:

Don't get me started on Vern. He can be a follower and if he gets mixed up with the wrong crowd  our trip could be ruined:

Finally, we have all heard about pirates on the open seas and I bet Labradoodles could be a hot commodity on the Black Market. I cannot have anything happen to my Doodles by a group of these guys:

So, all things considered, my two doods are staying home where they are safe and sound.

After several times of cruising first my daughter and I, then my daughter, my girl friend and I, then my two sister, a friend and I - I FINALLY got my husband on one.  Brand new upscale ship, fancy smancy,  balcony action and all.  He loved spending the time with me but it wasn't his cup of tea.

Laurie, I am going to have to kidnap you, Vern and Fudge, Natalie and take Karen and F. camping with us.  We RV camp and we even have a microwave, indoor plumbing and air conditioning!  Not 'real' camping but we do throw children outside in tents.   Not real camping, you say? Nope, but lots of fun.  And we stop at every little dinky museum we can find, including the campground Nature ones.

Jane, you are doing a great job organizing this, and my hat is off to you! Did not mean to rain anyone's parade, just my own explanation of why I hate cruising, with a little humor thrown in.

As I said in my anti-cruise posts, I'm sure the DK cruise will be a lot more fun than what I experienced, mostly because of the company! It would be impossible not to have a good time when surrounded by Doodle Kissers!

I still love you!  I say put your big girl panties on and get with it!   So cruising isn't your first choice but you'd have all of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'll even butter your bread - LMAO!!!!!

Hotel Cunningham is ALWAYS open and we have tons of availability except for October of 2012!!!!  LOL

Plus I imagine the sheets are Egyptian cotton, and poop bags are in good supply, lol!

I'll bring the Memphis dry rub, tell your DH to fire up the grill! Wild baby back ribs for everyone!
