DH has been getting lots of extra bonding time with the girls while my shoulder is healing! I think he now has a new appreciation for bathing and clipping Doodles! Both girls got baths and haircuts this week-end.
I agree, I can't remember my DH ever brushing Murphy who we've had for 2 years. He will say he has, I just don't know when that might have been. I do all their grooming as well. I think I will have to ask him to participate in the bonding experience, especially with 2 to groom now. Speaking of which, I promised myself some doodle sanitary cuts today, better get busy.
How cute! I'm the main grommer around here (or WAS until I decided I wanted groomers to save me time). But DH seems to know too much about too many things so even though I am the main groomer he'll sometimes work to get out a tangle he finds after complaining to Rosco about what a neglectful mother he's got :) Once when he decided I needed help (probably because he thought he needed to do it 'better' lol) he took over for like an hour! I don't mind at all.
In DH's defense, I am a (retired) Stay At Home Puppy Mom, and he still gets up and goes to work each day even though he has already retired from 2 jobs! So, that is why I'm in charge of all things Doodle Grooming wise in our home. He is the provider of Puppy Treat Money and I'm in Charge of Grooming ....... seems to work for us. Although I did hear him thinking out loud over the week-end about what was in his future if he decides he wants to retire! It took him a little while of getting the whole you must get down to the skin, you must line brush, you must comb, you can't just run a brush over top of them and call it finished. I'm so scared of bad Doodle cuts though that I did not let loose of the clippers this week-end, I still have one good arm you know!
This would not happen at my house. My dh holds the doodles while I brush and comb, but it is never his idea and he would NEVER pick that brush up as his own idea. I am impressed.
