Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I have been reading a lot of "i am sorries" on random posts about all the misinformation given to new Doodle puppy parents.
I began to wonder why can't we post the breeders name at least in our profile?
This should be a simple way to attempt to hold breeders accountable. This DK is a social media site...and these sites have proven to be so helpful world wide in creating good practices and holding people to an honest standard.
I want to add that, i have not received my doodle pup yet..i will on this friday.
So, i have no axe to grind. Just think this is such a valuable site and could add a real measure of clarity, transparency & candor to all breeders communication with the prospective owners.
Kind of a "Doodle Angie's list"
Curious to hear what anyone thinks. Keeping these misleading breeders in the shadows..helps no one but, the less than veracious breeder.

From my point of view (and this is just my personal feeling) here is what I fear will happen: the front page will be clogged with discussions from random people who just join in order to get feedback on a breeder and then are gone again. DK becomes more of a bulletin board than a community to support their members and give information to those experiencing issues as well as giving people a chance to just have a little fun. I get annoyed that people do not read the guidelines first and hang around a bit to get the feel of the culture of the board and just jump in posting. I also get annoyed by people who use DK only as a blogging mechanism, expecting everyone to read their blogs but never commenting on what anyone else posts, even when others are grieving the illness or loss of their beloved pet. Some people are very selfish...but that's another issue (ranting now). There is an owner recommended breeder group on DK. I think that would be the appropriate place to ask for breeder feedback. http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/ownerrecommendedbreeders
I agree with you completely. DK is a wonderful community rather than just a simple social media notice board.
Amen about the front page and bloggers.

These are my sentiments exactly. If I didn't know better, I would think I wrote this, lol.
And often, these are the same people who are the first to become insulted and "attacked" when, without reading guidelines or getting the feel of the community here, they do just jump in and post.
I was using my WWKD App ;)
Hahaha. priceless!
: )
Totally agree Karen and BG !
Well, BG, I was going to add my two cents but you've done it better than I! Thanks. The only thing I would add is that as an open forum, I would not want to see any one using DK as a place to grind their ax.
I agree with everything you said, BG! AMEN!!
As BruceGirl mentioned, there is a proper place for these type of posts.

Simple enough? So, it is out there, just not on the front page. And, as soon as anyone asks, helpful people direct them to these pages.
The front page would be filled with advertisements of Joe Doodle Breeder. This is a community. People can go to Google ads, do their own searches, etc., and many of us will leave private information on your page or in private email. We spend countless hours helping new members and each other with issues. Why do we need to help them or advertise breeders?
The information, and very well written, http://www.doodlekisses.com/notes/What_To_Look_for_In_a_Breeder is made available when someone asks. Then, hopefully, they can make their own informed decisions with out the pressure of a member they do not know.
I do remember when you were searching a few months ago. Here is your discussion, http://www.doodlekisses.com/forum/topics/difference-between-labrado... , where you had 52 responses in the open forum. 52 times people spent time replying to help you make a good decision, but in the end, you were free to choose a breeder on your own with the information provided to you.
I have seen breeders names posted on member's pages, there are groups formed with specific breeder names.
I, for one, am glad they front page is not full of breeders.
I have seen a few puppy mills posted. We quickly try to fight this, but it is never ending. Still, they make their way here all the time. I really don't want to know where people got their puppy. Not unless, I was going to purchase another. That happens how often, every 12 years. It is just not a current event!
After you have had your pup for a while, go to http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/ownerrecommendedbreeders
and post your review. This information is out there, just not on the front page!
and on a side note, I think I would get it for slander if we were permitted to review~ breeders letting new pups go before 8 weeks ( greedy and lazy), breeders who do not test ( greedy and careless), breeders who breed hundreds ( greedy puppy mill sick dogs.. etc) My comments would be endless and so would the lawsuits
Hope this helps. Best wishes on your new addition!
