These may have been on before and we have already had a discussion on doing this, but this is the first for me!  WHY?  How sad for these dogs to go through hours and hours of standing there while being colored, cut and groomed.  This is very sad and cruel.

Humiliating is right!  Besides being cruel to the dog, there is nothing attractive about it.

You are right there is NOTHING cute or attractive about this mess,

Cally is going in for her spring cut today and I even feel bad that she will have to stand for that. Luckily my groomer is great and say he will take breaks if she is starting to get agitated!

Wow, that is really nice for your groomer to do!  Can you only imagine how long they had to stand.  I wonder if they had breaks?????

I look at this and think disrespectful, cruel and selfish…moronic comes to mind too, but "Humiliating" … that about sums it up. Making a real dog go through this grooming fiasco … yuck!

I think F sumed it up perfectly: Inhumane!     Cruelty to animals if you ask me!

Seems cruel. Even my kids aren't the least bit impressed by this...

Very cruel Amy!   My oldest daughter found this and was sick to her stomach.

Humiliating and cruel, for sure.  All that wasted time in their lives - spent being groomed and made to look like craft projects...ugh. :(

I agree Julie!  I wonder how the owners would feel all painted and cut like that and put on display!

I don't see the point in doing this either, but it is not harmful to the dog and poodles LOVE to stand for hours for grooming - at least mine did.  Doodles?  Not so much.  Every year we go to Carmel Poodle Days and there are dogs with every type of style and color imaginable there.  After the parade, they have a beach day and they play and run on the beach.  We really look forward to it.  Poodles are definitely a different breed!

I loved Poodle Day! I did enjoy seeing the different creations people came up with, none of them appeared abused or neglected. I was fun to watch these beautifully groomed poodles and doodles romp in the sand and salty water...just ruining their perfect grooms! I don't see how me sending Sam to the groomer is any different than these dogs being groomed like this. Just different results I guess?
