Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi there, I just joined this forum and think it's great! I have a 6 1/2 month F1 Goldendoodle named Millie, who I just love...
Her coat right now is just a short shag, soft on her paws and head but fairly coarse and loose curls on her back. Her dad was an English Retriever. We met up yesterday with one of her siblings and this pup had wayyyyyy longer hair than Millie, looked like a Sheepdog actually. I know there can be quite a variation of coat types in a litter but I was quite surprised! Since there's lots of Doodley experience on this forum I thought I'd get some input/opinions on Millie's coat. I'm wondering if it will continue to grow and get a lot shaggier as she gets older?
Any input would be great! :)

Enid, yes. Ipads do throw a loop in entering pics.  I understand now

It would be nice if Ning had a way to show the links above relies on the IPads. And if the IPads had flash.
She looks quite normal for a young golden doodle to me. Coats do vary, even in the same litter. Her coat may change a little when (and if) you get her groomed. Yes, her coat will continue to grow and you can decide if you like her natural or clipped. It really is individual preference.

Pulling out my old nuggets again lol!  Cue the collective eye roll from long time members lol.

That's ok, I did my own oldie but goodie.
Wow, Gavin looks at 8 months very much like Millie does now, so I hope she turns out like that because he's gorgeous!
Calla too reminds me of Millie... She's lovely as well, do you guys have to clip them or is that their natural look?

If Calla never got groomed her hair would reach to your house. It grows very fast.

Gavin is clipped short right now and at 3.5 years old he looks like this (he was kind enough to pose for you this morning):

All of these pictures of Gavin are so cute. They're cracking me up... he must like to show his back side!

LOL I just started doing it to get a good record of his coat.  He is very patient with me posing him this way and that ;)

Never grow tired of seeing your gorgeous Gavin. No eye roll here. As far as what to expect with your pup, that is so very hard to say but I'm sure you will love her no matter what. The vast majority of scraggly straight haired pups end up with beautiful coats, but there just are no guarantees.

Enid, Millie has much more hair than Owen did at that age and he is quite shaggy now. I think you have a great doodley doodle. It is fun to watch their coats change, and you never know for sure what to expect.
