Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Not  yet.  We just couldn't bare to loose this beauty.  Maybe next Sunday night?   Couch has led a meaningfull life. To just throw it to the curb after all it has done? What are we going to do?

Often on DK there are discussions that ask if you permit your doodles on the furniture.   Many of you know about Couch.  I have mentioned Couch but I try very hard not to post pictures  taken with Couch as a background.  It is embarrassing but such an important part of daily life.     I was once DARED to post a picture of the doodle Couch...... and of course I did, but it was so hard to do.

Couch serves a good purpose. For the dogs it provides  rest, a place to stash their toys and a view to the all important outside world.    Our new baby, Starlit, loves to hide her head underneath the cushions and puppy bark.  She thinks Spud can't find her there.

Most important--it keeps the dogs off the real furniture. They stay off our couch  :)

But honestly-- I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!

So here is my final tribute to Couch.

 R. I. P COUCH.  GOOD RIDDANCE.

ROFL Adina! Soooo funny
No, No, please say it isn't so! We can't get rid of things just because they are a little (ok maybe a lot) worn, a little tattered, somewhat sagging, have a few wrinkles, even if they were around in the 70's ...... I'd be on the curb as well!
Perhaps you might consider a designer hybrid couch for your next purchase. I hear people pay ridiculously high prices for those but they always fall in love and spend lots and lots of time with them! They make the best couches, you know.
I missed this last night...went to bed early, very early. I woke up this morning at 6:45...YEA the puppy slept in. I thought it was going to be a great day....it just felt that way. Then I read this sad, sad news. It's clear to see what a wonderful part of the family couch has been...so well loved. It's also clear to see that couch knows the meaning of "giving back"....she's obviously given her all. There's just not much more left to give. She looks like I feel some days...no maybe a little better. I know how it feels to be a product of the 70s and try to stay relevant (okay, maybe the 60s). What will the Doods do when you replace couch? Will they be told..."stay off that couch, it cost us a fortune", or will they be able to "bond" like they have with the real couch? Their lives will probably change, and they may go through a grieving period. Will they still be able to look out the window, play trampoline, attack Easter chicks....oh I hope so. Anyway, there goes my "good day". Good Bye To You, Couch. Where do good couches go when their work is done? Wait a minute, Guinness and Murphy are asking if couch can come live with us....they want to play trampoline too. Nope, I told them couch is just too old to make the trip.
Sorry I would have put that poor couch out of its misery 1978!

I can not believe my eyes... : )
Have you tried to find a new one on CRC (Couch Rescue Collective)? I hear they get some nice ones all the time.
Oh the memories this has brought back! Back in the 70's, right out of High School I got my first "big girl" job at Wright-Patterson AFB working as a Civilian for the US Govt. Since this was 2 hours away from my family, it also brought with it my 1st apartment! All my relatives cleared out their homes of all their "junk" and furnished my first apartment. I called the decor "Early American Poverty". Anyway, one of the items was the "old black couch" from my Aunt. It was Pleather ..... it was already worn through (read ripped) and therefor came with a blanket to cover the seat cushions! That was the most comfortable couch in the whole wide world. It was the hardest thing in the whole world to give it up. I probably had it for about 6 years just because I loved to sleep on it and could never find another that was so comfortable. So Joanne, I feel your pain, but I'm living proof there is life after the couch!
(pssst... I know I shouldn't encourage this kind of thing... but you can score a replacement designer breed Couch on craigslist for half what those breeders retail stores will charge you...)
We have lit a candle in memory of Couch.

Rest In Peace Graphics
I am going to drive by your house and see if its on the curb! LOL If it is I might take it! LOL LOL
Ha!!! so funny.

Joann, just saw this posting on the Couch Rescue Collective.
This is Bella, she is 2 years old and is a wonderful soft and cuddly girl looking for a specific home. Don't be fooled by her age, she is full of bounce and loves to toss her pillows with the best of them. Bella is presently being fostered in a very nice Couch Consignement Shop in Arizona with many other lovely couches, many people to visit her and pet her all day.
Bella is sweet and playful in nature and she enjoys little children and plays nicely with all breeds, especially
ottomans and end tables.
She loves to have her butt rubbed and and pictures taken of her as she is quite a ham. She loves to be brushed and combed so her adoptive family would have to commit to several groomings a year.
Bella has sensitive stomach and does not tolerate synthetic fibers or fillers in her tummy.
Bella's adoptive requirements are as follows:
Must have doodle/doodles present in the home.
A home where she will not be left alone for long periods of time.
All Doodles must have complete and unlimited access and use of Bella at all times.

Bella is a wonderful couch for the right doodle family and will give back years of warmth, comfort and unconditional love to all that have the pleasure of knowing her. Please contact the CRC, for application and home visit arrangements.
