Just got this article sent through Dogster: http://blogs.dogster.com/living-with-dogs/simone-reyes-talks-to-us-... and it reminded me of a discussion we had in yappy hour on Friday. A number of us were on chat trying to convince Dori that she needed to get a Rua tattoo to mark the beginning of the next chapter of her life. (Hmmmm maybe the new KangaRua logo??) Mind you it was easy for us liquor soaked cheerleaders to urge her on ;) I recall someone on DK (can't remember who) has paw prints tattooed on her ankle or foot. So what do you think DKers - to tattoo or not to tattoo - that is the question!

The colours are very nice!
And from the Prude in OHIO:
Tattoos are not for me but I am afraid of needles. I had a girlfriend in my teen years, she was early 20's, and I thought she was so cool, however, she had a word spelled out on her left hand, each of her four fingers (not her thumb) had a letter...it looked so stupid and she was sorry she did it, can't even remember the word, so I know I would never do it.
The one thing I can say that I don't like is how many young people are inked. My daughter has Chinese characters on her left hip that says "friend"....or at least that is what she thinks it says. 3 of her 5 bridesmaids are inked. I guess you can say they were tasteful but that is all I could see, stupid tattoos on shoulders, necks, arms and foot instead of the gorgeous girls and their beautiful dresses, hair and makeup.
I have to agree I think the tattoos don't look good like that. That's why mine won't be visible...even in a bathing suit!
I once worked at the court house with a young attorney who had some type of small tattoo on her ankle - and every time she had to appear in court she would take heavy makeup to cover it over - the college decision didn't work well with her adult occupation. My step daughter has a butterfly on her lower hipbone - I'm going to love to see what that looks like after a baby or two, perhaps a worm - lol. So I have reservations about tats, and I have had an MRI done and they asked me before hand if I had any tattoos so I'm wondering if having one causes some type of problem there. Given all of that - I believe to each his own and so Dori - if you don't get one before I come and visit - we'll go get one together. I have been thinking that I would like a VERY SMALL cross on my inner wrist, where my watch band would cover it over or perhaps on my foot. I hate to admit it but I love Nicole Ritchies tattoo on her ankle but I would never do anything that someone else could see.
Hmmmm - how would this look with cankles? LMAO!!! My dh would just kill me!! I could do paw prints for the boys on the bottom of my foot - maybe? Maybe we should all go ashore on the Doodle Cruise and get tattoos - like drunken sailors!!!! Wow - would that EVER be the LAST time I'd get to cruise with Dori!!!!!!!!!!!!
Based on the FB response I got from both of my sisters, I might have to take you up on that. My niece is game, though, so the three of us can go! I had originally thought of a celtic cross...so maybe I'll do two!
