Wow. I think we made it!

We seem to have reached a new phase in puppy development. Riley used to run around with toys from sun up to sun down. She would make me tired watching her...and nervouse she would stop, drop and "go" on a dime. Recently I noticed that she is content just following me around and sitting by me. Of course, she is still ready to chase after a toy full speed if I throw it. I just find it sweet that she is mellowing out a bit now that she's reached 14 months. Did you notice a similar change at some point when your puppy was growing?

Yes.... my doodles seemed to have grown up at about 12-18 months :)

I'd say around this time we started to notice some mellowing out. But it was not till right around 2 yrs old that I felt a real sense of peacefulness with them around me. Now at 3 and 5 1/2 they are mellow and can sleep off and on all day if nothing is going on. It gets better and better.

With Lucy and Sophie I would say it was right in the 13-15 months range. With AnnaBelle I think pretty much the same. She still has the occasional zoomies but for the most part is mellow.

There were days I really wondered if we could handle her so I'm glad we made it over the hill. That's not to say she doesn't still have her stubborn moments, but they are much less frequent. Definitely enjoying this phase a lot more. :-)
