Ok, so I have to say I am SOOOOOOOO proud of Bear and my daughter, Rylie. They have been learning to get along with each other in the same room :) Rylie is taking the initiative of commanding Bear with the word "no" and he is actually listening :) I am really hoping that we are on the road to great things with both of them :)

Why is it so hard to get the dogs to listen to young children? It forever to have my dogs (Payton mostly) listen to my young niece and nephew. I even took them to training classes with me.

When my daughter was Rylie's age, (she's now 29!) she used to 'walk' our standard poodle around the house with a leash; I still laugh when I look at those pictures. Take lots of photos, you will laugh someday, too!
I have absolutely no doubt that you are "on the road to great things with both of them" !!!

Three big cheers for you!!! Your attitude has changed since your first discussion. You took control and you are not afraid. You know you can do it! A big A+ for you as a mom and a dog trainer. Way to go. It is all about attitude, asking for help, and trying trying trying until you get it right. There will be some bumps but you are going to be great!!
