I remember Scott Wolf from Party of 5 as well. Neve Campbell era Scott Wolf is what I remember! I also watched it ...super addictive!

I hesitated to comment and I hate to be Debbie Downer, but this video kind of made me cringe, to be honest. From what I could tell, Scott's purchase of the goldendoodle puppy was an impulse purchase, and that just doesn't bode well for the pup's future, as anyone in rescue knows only too well. A 12-15 year commitment to a living being shouldn't be made on impulse, lol. I also wonder what kind of breeder has 7 week old GD pups that haven't already been spoken for, and who allows someone who hasn't given a deposit to visit the pups; most reputable breeders won't do that. And of course, media hype and publicity of any kind is never a good thing for any breed. :)

Karen, I don't think it was impulse.  They were 'replacing.'  I think the impulse part was that they were only 'looking' as opposed to purchasing before they looked. AND I think the looking was only on his part.  His wife was already in the choosing stage.

Ah. I couldn't make out what they were saying at the very beginning of the discussion. All I got was that they went to just "look" at puppies and he didn't intend to actually buy one.

Yup,,,,,his wife told him that a good way to "honor the spirit" of the dog they lost was to bring in another.  It seems that he agreed to go "visit" the puppies.  Lets go visit some cute Golden Doodle puppies, but we really won't get one....SAID NO DOG LOVING WOMAN EVER!.  He's young...he'll learn, but I personally would give that woman a "high five" for pulling this off....and her DH still doesn't realize what happened.  LOL.

Karen, I really do understand where you are coming from and I guess I should have taped more of the conversation. He did say that they had a dog before they had children that they considered to be their first baby. That dog had to be put to sleep and the vet came to their house to do that for them. So I do believe they are in it for the long haul. He said his wife had done the research and this is what she decided on for their next dog and took him to "visit" the puppies.

LOL, if I'd known that, I probably would have had a better feeling about it. I think they are going to have quite a different experience this time around, though, raising a puppy with a 2 yr old, a 4 yr old, and a 7 yr old in the house, lol. Exciting times ahead for that family!
