Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Last night as I was checking out at Walmart and a lady came bustling up to me and excitedly ask how Hattie was. I must have had a totally blank look on my face. I didn't recognize her and was kind of taken by surprise with her enthusiasm. I just kind of stood there and stared for a minute and then replied, "Fine. She's good. She's at home." All the time racking my brain for who the heck she was! I really didn't want to ask. I'm really bad with names but I usually remember faces. Especially those associated with Hattie. She finally said, "Oh, you don't know me, I just met her in Petsmart once and have seen you with her in other stores."

Then today, I had Hattie with me as always and ran into Office Depot for a binder and a young girl came up and said hi to Hattie. She knew her name. Really? "Hi," she says to me. "I used to work at Petsmart and I remember Hattie. She was my favorite dog! I always loved her red shoes!"

This all happens quite frequently with Hattie. I gues she has what people would call a magnetic personality. What I lack in people skills, Hattie more than makes for!

Wow, Hattie is quite the local celebrity, lol!

Jackdoodle is only famous among the children of the neighborhood. Strange kids are constantly greeting him by name when we're out on walks, I don't recognize them but they must be friends of my GS or my neighbor's kids. On Halloween, a lot of little treat or treaters whose names I could not tell you said "Hi Jack" when I opened the door.

haha everytime we are in petsmart or other dog related places people always come up and greet my girls by name too, I love it.

Hattie is a star!  Trav--not so much.  I remember my daughter used to know the names of all the animals in the neighborhood--cats, dogs, whatever.  People were often amazed when we were out for a walk and she greeted their pets by name.  :)

We get this all the time with people that we meet on therapy visits.  The problem is we go to 5 different places so anytime I meet someone out in public I struggle to remember which place they are from.  We had a patient we have visited one week pull up along the curb when we were walking through a strip center and rolled down her window and said "Hi Sophie".  She was a chemo patient we had visited 2 days before!   Just today Sophie got a huge box in the mail with a big ole gift basket of toys and treats along with a card signed by all the residents at one of her nursing homes she visits.   I had called them this week to let them know that she was sick and couldn't visit.  (Gotta admit that brought tears).  Funny part though is no one hardly ever remembers me by name, I'm just Sophie's Mom!

How sweet of them to send a gift to Sophie. I hope she can get back to her visits soon.

How awesome of the Nursing Home to send Sophie a "get well gift".  Clearly she has made a real impact on them....sweet girl.  I would have some tears tool.

This is so touching Sherri.  What an impact she had made!

Oh Sherri, that brings tears to my eyes! How sweet is that! Sophie must be so special!

This is just lovely Sherri, Sophie's mom! It sounds like Sophie has stolen some hearts too!

Gosh, Fudge and Vern do not have a following, unless you count our neighbor's granddaughter who called today to stop by and see the dogs. She wore her snowman pajamas so Fudge could see them :)  Congratulations to Hattie!! She must be an awesome dog.

Ok Laurie, that is the sweetest thing!

That's adorable, Laurie!  Snowman pajamas!  I love it!
