Sorry for two posts back to back.
OKay I need to know your best get pee out of the carpet trick.. I admit, I am an OCD clean to the extreme so I am particularly picky.. HOWEVER.. Jack has had some kidney/bladder infections and he has not been able to make it though the night to potty.
I do get up with him however, there is one spot in my bedroom that he has peed on, obviously more then one time. I have used the Anti Icky poo. It did nothing to help at all, I used a brand new carpet shampoo machine with shampoo especially made for animal urine. Just to give you an idea, NO ONE even walks on my carpet with shoes ever and if their feet are not totally clean I make them wear booties... (my lungs catch everything so no one can bring germs in)
I have tried vinegar and water, hydrogen peroxide, Bissel Pet pre treater stain remover, dish soap, and about three other urine remover products. No one can smell it no one was able to smell it but I CAN.. I have my nose in the carpet and I can still smell it.. so if I can I know Jack can.. I have gated off that section of my bedroom.. I am going to lose my mind if I can't get this smell out of my carpet.... I would replace the carpet totally but it is just one small spot. and like I said no one has ever even walked on the carpet with shoes so there is not a stain anywhere. PLEASE tell me you have something I can do to get this smell to leave. I am ready to call a priest and have an exorcism performed.

Jennifer, if you have any extra carpet, you can have them do a patch...Cut out the soiled carpet and replace it with a new piece...Padding can also be patched.  Good luck!  It's sometimes, wierd as it sounds, it's more convenient to have a bad sense of smell!
Did yo do any search online? Help from Heloise has lots of household tips! Good luck.

Can you pull up the carpet and replace a little piece of the underpadding?  The carpet you should be able to de-scent with something like Nature's Mircale.  Once you pull up the carpet you can also clean the floor underneath with the same stuff.

I would also leave the carpet turned up for a day or so to let it air out (if it's in a good spot to do that) after applying the deodorizing stuff.

Good luck!

Club soda? I use Resolve and it works well, but i think dogs can find the odor no matter what you do--I love the idea of replacing the patch and the padding---could work! We just rented a house for a week and within a minute of us getting there, my Mattie with the super great sense of smell had found a spot on the carpet that she wanted to "mark"--yes, girl dogs do it too! I caught her in time and covered the spot with her crate, but I tell you, I couldn't smell a thing!
Baking soda is usually good for deodorizing. I would shake it on an cover the area with a plastic tub of some kind and leave it for a couple of days before vacuuming it up. It is possible you are smelling the chemicals you used more so than actual urine?

Thanks for the ideas, I can not patch it or replace the carpet spot, I don't think.. it is such a tiny spot but it is a spot none the less,

I tried baking soda.. I think from rubbing my nose in carpet all day the smell is stuck in my nose... I actually changed my oxygen cannula as well just to see if it was on that..

Donna I don't know what I smell anymore, honestly, I have the area gated off and I am going to take one of my IV needles tomorrow and inject some cleaning solution under the carpet to get tot he padding,

Thanks again

Jen...

What they mean by patching is to cut out a small square of carpet and padding and replace it with a the same size square of padding and matching carpet.  Kind of like a jig=saw puzzle.  It really does work and is done often in cases like this or with stains.

If you have any extra carpet...you can easily do it.

So More Smell!!  Wa La!!  Lol...

I do not have an extra carpet... I don't remember the brand or color we picked out when we had it installed do you by any chance?

I don't remember the name...but...I have two ideas...

When I get back I'll come over and take a look...or should I say Smell!!  Lol...

If the spot you're talking about is near the edge of the carpet...we can pull it back...remove the piece of the padding that has the odor and replace it...and then put the carpet back down and reclean it!

That should work!

If it doesn't do the trick...you can call the company that built the house and ask them if they have your records...so  you can get some carpet.

If they don't...find out where they are building in the area...and we can take a ride over there and look through the book and find it ourselves!

Jen...where there's a will...there's a way!!  Lol...

Call me when you can...

I will< I am talking to Pat right now.. xoxoo
and I want your nose because I know you have the same clean standards as me!!!
and I called you and it went into voice mail.... I just found more pee spots... YUCK I am going to scream.. and Jack is going to have to go back in  crate at night.
