Well, our Amelia is 9 months old. We have lots of Amelia tumbleweeds blowing around the house as well! We have lots of fur in the brush and lots of fur on clothes. I assumed that it is her puppy coat shedding and it would end some day. (At least my fingers are crossed, haha) If anyone with older pups have feedback, I'd love to know if this will continue as well.
My Jace started with shedding around 6 months, he is now a year old and approaching summer. It is horrible, I have to brush him everyday sometimes twice a day to keep it at a min. He hates it and sharks you the entire time he is getting brushed. I'm sure he doesn't like the brush...it's one of those that get out the undercoat loose hair. But at this point I have no idea what to use to get all of the hair out. I was told that they begin shedding their baby coat around 6-8 mths and it doesn't stop until they are 1.5 yrs old. huh? I hope it slows down, this is crazy. Is there anything that we can do? I keep his cut short right now to avoid more hair. It's too bad because he has really pretty wavy long hair...I am hoping he doesn't have the Aussie side that is a non stop shedder.
My understanding is that because Aussiedoodle are a mix they can inherit the hair/fur of either parent: the Aussie who sheds a lot or Poodles who don't. Penny does not shed at all. I think it's interesting that you're finding tumbleweeds under appliances. But at least you aren't finding it when you brush or on your clothes. Right?
