Charleston, South Carolina
I visited my step-daughter who is living near Charleston and brought her a Maltese to replace her pride and joy who had died from old age. I don't know about living there in the heat of the Summer but, Charleston is a lovely place to visit in the Spring. The historic district has homes that are still there from the 1700's...
A "NEW" home could date from the late 1800's or early 1900's...
The historic plantation homes outside of Charleston are also stately and lovely...

We visited my grandparents in Charleston every August when I was a child. This is the house they owned and the house my mother was born in. (Not my picture. They are all packed away.)
