My DIY Camera Bag

I thought some of you guys may be interested in a tutorial I found that turns a purse into a camera bag. After seeing a member post this site, I desperately wanted a camera bag that could double as a purse. I'm always lugging around my big bulky, ugly camera bag, plus my purse and it's a pain. One of my goals is to take my camera with me as often as possible so it just seemed like a really good idea. Problem, it was WAY too expensive. So I started searching for a good tutorial. And I found one! I am a TERRIBLE sewer and I was still able to manage this in about an hour. So it was a super easy project.

Here is my finished bag, I really, really love it!  I can put my wallet, keys, phone, camera, lenses, etc into the purse safely. Note, my camera isn't in the bag in one of them because I was using it to take the picture. and the one with the camera was taken with my phone so sorry for the bad photo.

That looks very neat! Can that whole insert come out? It looks like it can.

Yes, they can all come out. The sides and bottom are just resting in there (it's snug so they don't move), the dividers are fixed to the sides with velcro.

Oh Camilla I wish I'd seen this "pre-Christmas"....my wonderful DH gave me one of those very expensive camera bags and tho it's a great bag....it's very large....and almost more bag than I need most of the time.   I'm going to make one of these as and "everyday" bag....I hope he doesn't mind too much!
